Has anyone run 22 rims and been happy with them? Personally 21s have always felt like enough, and I fear the lower amount of tire profile would give me a heart attack on even small potholes. Curious if anyone has done this and liked it, or if youve done it and hated it too.

The Q5 is a tiny car and they already look dumb enough on 21s, 22s just look outright ridiculous.

    22s are too big

Edit: By too big I wasnt referring to fit. They fit. They just look dumb. To cram that much wheel you have to run super low-profile tires that ride like shit.

There are some people running 22's on this platform. I'm sure Mops will chime in with the straight skinny on what will fit and what won't.

if you stick to 255 you can run a 35 sidewall, if you want the max width at 295 youll need a 30 sidewall. Losing a half inch of sidewall in either case. Hope youve got nice roads.

Yep, the tire sizing is what makes it tough. 295/30 kinda sucks. 285/30 is far too thin. 265/35 works great, but if you're wanting 10"+ you're going to stretch a bit. Wheel style comes into play as well. A lipped 22" will not look quite a large. Here is 22x10 on 265/35 -

    I ran a couple of 22" setups on my B8.5. 22x9.5 with 265/35 works quite well -

I briefly had 22's on my last SQ5, simply because I had them from a different car and wanted to make use. Ended up moving them to my wife's SQ5 where she rand them for a year. On 265/35 and air suspension the ride is totally fine. My wife never noticed a thing.

Ive run 22x10 the entire time Ive had mine with no ride quality issues and I feel they look great. Ive had 275/35s and now have 265/35. Both have been fine but the the 265s fit better

I love the look of 22s, but was concerned about the ride. Thank you all for the input and helping to ease that concern. Headed to the classifieds section now!

I know your mind is made up - but be sure to check that weight too.

22 inches of some heavy wheels is a lot of unsprung weight.

    but do you player.
