My wife has a 2020 Audi TT roadster. A couple of weeks ago, she told me that she was hearing what sounded like water splashing back and forth from inside the car. After doing a little bit of homework, I realize that water must be leaking when it's raining and going inside the back portion of the car, where the convertible goes down. After looking up some YouTube videos, I realize that there collector areas that are supposed to collect the water. At the bottom of these collector areas, there are drains that allow the water to drain out from underneath the car. Wendy's drains get clogged, it causes the water to overflow and sit inside the area that holds the convertible top. These drain holes usually get covered by leaves or other debris as the top is put up and down. When these holes are clogged, the water overflows and goes into the cavity where the convertible top sits. That area is almost impossible to get to because of all the mechanisms for the convertible top. So the water that's in the area has to evaporate naturally. Given the fact that it's wet and cold in Los Angeles right now, that process is very time-consuming. I spent a couple hours cleaning out the area that collects the water and eventually goes down the drain. I poured some water down the drain to make sure that it was not clogged.
The other day she noticed that there was a lot of condensation inside the car early in the morning. I did a little bit of research online and found out that that's usually caused by water inside the car. I realized that the water that was sitting in that cavity was probably slowly leaking into the cabin. I checked the carpet and sure enough it was all wet. I spent about 2 hours using a wet/dry vac to suck up as much water as possible.
The moral of the story is, always check the drains to make sure they're not clogged. I've attached some pictures in case this helps anybody else out.
