2012 TDI - Cooling Fan Module Code - Fan keeps running

I have code:*
4529 - Fan 1 Control Circuit********** P0692 00 [00100111] - Short to Plus

The fan keeps running (car shut off, locked, etc) for a long time (this is NOT the 'afterrun cooling' when engine is very hot).
I assum faulty fan control module.*
Can someone provide me with the part number (tough to get to the module inbedded into the back of the fan)?
Is the TDI maybe using the same as the gas 3.0? Plenty of those around:

I would try one from junkyard,and avoid having to take the whole fan assembly/carrier out (may even need front bumper off?)
Maybe someone even has a link to DIY change of the module?*

FAN1=Right=Large fan

Don't see module for FAN1, only for the small (right) fan.
Top of fan 2 has cast in 'box', maybe module is in there. Does NOT look like this (module of large fan 1, top of fan):

Does someone know if the MODULE is hidden inside the plastic molded 'box' on top since only one (for the small fan) is visible?
