Hey guys, quick hello here. I just picked up a '21 Quantum Grey SQ5 about a month ago, coming from a B8 A4. Already have a few things done and a few more to come.

Great looking car, welcome! Going from an A4 to and SQ5 is super fun, driving it feels really similar and you’ll notice the extra power. CETE module is great, you’ll love it as well as new wheels make for a great new look.

What made you go IE? I know that there’s been some chatter around issues with their stage 1 recently.

Thanks! I haven’t gone IE yet, but it’s on my list for probably next November when my warranty is up. They seemed like the most popular option but I’ll be keeping my eyes open if there are issues.

Do yourself a huge favor and go with 034. IE has no idea what they’re doing when it comes to the ea839

Yeah - from all the research I’ve done 034 has consistently been the most reliable company out there. I just ordered my Stage 1 from them and plan on getting it done next week!

How do you like the diamond audio sub?

Sub is fantastic. I've had a sub in my daily for the last 20 years, so the B&O just sounded flat without it. Honestly I have it turned most of the way down, but it gives a nice clean full sound. With the mounting screw cranked way down, I don't hear any extra vibrations or rattles, so its perfect. On my A4 it was a constant battle with trim pieces rattling, so its been great to just drop it in and not even have to worry about any dynamat. I stole someone else's idea and mounted the adjustment knob under the steering wheel which is convenient, though once set I really don't touch it.

Wrapped my fingerprinted and scratched center console trim with 3M matte black vinyl film. So much better, this was such a pet peeve of mine.

Yeah, I was already in the trunk to adjust the subwoofer.

Got some good miles in yesterday, and agree. I test drove a bunch of Macan's before buying the SQ5, including a Macan GTS with 435hp. Getting the SQ5 to drive like that for half the cost was my goal, and definitely accomplished. The TCU tune is nice too, the faster shifts make for much less drama and it seems to be in the gear I want more often. I am still struggling with the transition from a manual, and having the gear/rpm be exactly where I want it as second nature. Maybe I need to start using the paddles more but for now I've been driving pretty exclusively in Dynamic + Sport.

That matte wrap trim around the shifter looks awesome. When I was looking at B9.5's I wasnt a fan of the gloss black there, but that looks great.

there are few posts on how to set it up.

praneal has a post in the for sale section where he makes plug and play wires for aftermarket stereo parts and I got his stuff to do mine.

Thanks, the matte is a big improvement.

I found this video that made me pick up a charger from harbor freight. Figured it was better to be safe than sorry. It's weird that there weren't any big warnings before actually flashing, it was mostly things I read on the forum that you should do it.

Installation is straightforward, I think "plug and play" makes it sound a bit easier than the job is, but if you use the resources available I think anyone could do it. Totally worth it though, jump in and worst case we'll help you sort it out!

Few updates since I last checked in and a few more planned.

1. Flushed the brake fluid back in June

2. Had a minor door ding fixed

2. Changed the oil and installed the ECS Billet Oil Filter Housing. This little Schwaben 1/2 turn funnel is the best.



3. Installed the black Audi Sport Tips. Not a big difference but happy to get rid of the fake plastic tips.





I'm dropping the car off on Sunday for paint correction and ceramic coating, then next Friday to have the front windows tinted to match the rears. After that I should be good until maybe some new wheels in spring.

I'm a bit late to this thread, but if you don't already have the Weathertech cargo blocks to go with the liner, I'd highly recommend them. They really help keep things from sliding around back there.

I didn't think they would work on top of the liner but after checking them out looks like they should. I will definitely get a set, groceries in the back of this thing is a nightmare. Thanks!

The grill was already black from the black optics package but I did replace the chrome badge with a black badge to complete the look.

How do you like the Escort Max 3 ? I might the Escort MAX 360 MKII with the Escort M2 Smart Dash Cam. Too bad we cant use the cameras already there and record somehow. Especially if they were triggered to record when activated.

It’s been good, the blendmount and mirror tap install is super clean which I love. I have an older escort as well in the wife’s car that hasn’t let me down either. I’ve never used another brand but love that these will mark and silence repeat signals from the same gps location so you don’t get as many false positives over time. Seems like a huge feature to me.
