    Daza swap into b8.5 chassis

What kind of transmission would be best suited if one would attempt this kind of swap?
Would be a manual not an automatic.

Yes I know there are easier swaps that are documented multiple times.

But this would be with things laying around and not looking at time and money spend.
Have a B8.5 A5 chassis without an engine and a daza engine that a customer canceled on.

Isn't the DAZA a transverse layout? Sometimes Audi does some strange things with a Transverse layout compared to the inline.

    DAZA is a 2.5L 5-cyl from the RS3. That'll be a hell of a project regardless.

For a manual it would need to be a 0B4 trans and possibly some sort of an adapter or custom flywheel if I had to guess

6MT would be the 0B4. But again, he's going to have to fabricate custom motor mounts, a custom extension to move the lock carrier forward to create clearance for a 5-cyl long block, custom front end to fill the exterior of that extension gap, custom exhaust, custom just about everything for any coolant routing, wiring, etc. This is not a plug and play fit in the slightest.

Yeah it's a transverse. There will be some challenges. But I am thinking it's possible with the right transmission.

2.0T also come in both transverse and longitudinal.

curious to see that swap. Wouldn't inline 5 be too long? ea888 is already very close to the radiator and core support, and imo, moving core support sort forward makes it a non-starter. BUT, ea888 has timing system in the front and Daza has it on the transmission side, so maybe that helped Audi to make it very similar in length to ea888. Anyway, good luck with the project.

I know the NA 5cyl into a B7 chassis was a hair too long but it was able to work with some chopping of the core support etc

The people I've heard from about this say the 2.5t is only 1 inch longer from flywheel to front pulleys than the 2.0t. Also, there are engine mounts available. I assume standalone engine management would be the best way to execute this.
