    MVNSORY's 2016 SQ5 Build Thread

Hey y'all, I've been on this forum for a few years now, and I thought I'd do this properly:

However, I'd like to tell a story first.

So if y'all knew, I had a black '15 Q5 3.0T in Mythos Black Metallic; APR Stage 1, KW HAS, HRE FF01's to name a few of the mods I had done.

Here's what the car looked like when I bought it back in July of 2020 with ~65k miles:

Here's what the car looked like at it's best:

I work valet, here's mine with some other "family members"

    Here's the last video I got of the car (CTS air intake, muffler delete);

Well, you know what they say, good things sometimes have to come to an end.

On a rainy September day in Texas, somebody in a red F-150 decided to make a left turn from the far right lane and cut me off in the process.

And after a long battle with adjusters and insurance, on October 4th, 2023, at 88,008 miles, Buddy's life had officially come to an end, as did a huge part of me.

As insurance totaled the car, it'll now be sent off to the highest bidder, and I really hope it goes to someone who cares as much as I did, so, if anyone is interested in parts, the engine is still Stage 1 (~440hp), the car has KW HAS with less than 8k miles, and the interior is still in immaculate condition.

Here's the copart link (which my insurance put up before I even agreed on a final payout value of the car, thanks a lot...)
    https://www.copart.com/lot/72645703/...plus-tx-dallas
(If you're wondering why the wheels are now black, it's because I may or may not have taken my HRE's )

So, after searching for something I was happy with and felt remotely close in "spark" to what I had before (which was tough because I LOVED that car), I stumbled upon a 2016 SQ5 with only 31k miles (which seemed too good to be true). And after doing a PPI on the car, we went ahead and put a deposit down on it. Four days later, I drove it home.

Here is my 2016 Audi SQ5 Premium Plus in Mythos Black Metallic:

    I finally got carbon fiber!

So, this is where the car currently stands. I will go back to APR and eventually go FBO, will most likely do KW V2 coilovers (I'll be in touch Mops ), another CTS intake, and either a muffler delete or a full AWE system.

If you made it this far, thank you for reading, and thank you for all the help y'all have given me over the last three years for Buddy(V1)/Steve/Luna/Whatever name was funniest at the time.

I can't wait to (properly) show y'all what's in store for Buddy V2.

Now onto better (and faster) things!

So I know it’s been a while, but I just ran into a problem: I wanted to take off the license plate bracket, so I unscrewed it and tugged it a little. It wasn’t coming off so I just tugged a little harder and eventually it came off.

Now I have a giant hole in my front grille. What on earth did I do? None of my Audi friends seemed to have this issue.

Here are some photos to help with explanation:

How do the KW V2 coilovers feel in terms of ride comfort. I am on 034 springs with my stock shocks and the ride has just always been too bumpy, even before my spring install. Looking forward to round 2 updates with the 2016.

Haven’t bought them yet, and I’m planning on doing the V1s instead as there’s no reason to spend the extra $500 where the V1s will practically do as good a job.

They’re in my storage unit down in TX!! After the Q5 accident I had to get them polished and re powder coated- they’re now a darker grey- I would’ve had them on the car sooner but I didn’t feel like spending 500+ to get them up to CT when I’m going down and driving all my stuff back up here soon anyways

YASSSSSSS... try to find the colored HRE caps if they ever come up (The forged HRE caps) instead of the flowformed ones. I did that on my FF10s on my S4. God I miss those wheels.
