I just acquired this Q5 TDI and have big plans for it. Maintenance is #1 but I am already starting to look for items like the Euro headlights and was wondering if any of you knew if there is a difference between the American and the Euro taillights? Are there other differences not many people know about? Thanks

Euro rear tails and US tails are different. The Euro tails have the amber for signals instead of our full red. However, a few of us have also recoded our tails so that instead of the full center section lighting up during the hazards or turn signal use, only the slits are on.

    - Euro tails.

Thanks for this reply. Guess that would be on my list as well.

Is anyone aware of such differences in the B8 model? I have the Xenons, curious if there's any customization possible with either F or R.

I have the euro taillights installed on my Q5 with the amber turn signals. I love it.

    Euro style vs American style

try alvadi.com and alvadi.it for euro lights

    https://alvadi.com/spare-parts/audi/...main-headlamp/

    https://alvadi.com/spare-parts/audi/...12/tail-light/

good prices, ship to the USA and they have all the different options, xenon, halogen, adaptive, non adaptive,Depo, Valeo etc. Brush up on your italian for the IT site. I got mine while I was in Italy so cant speak to how long USA shipping takes or any customs fees.

There is a thread here on how to recode. I recoded US lights to euro. I have never seen another q5 with recoded tails in real life :)

You will need to have a VCDS cable for recoding

I have both Euro Tail-lights installed and Ecode headlights along with RS grill. I did the tail light coding via my OBDeleven and it worked perfectly. So happy with the amber turn signals and the brake lights looking the same as in Europe. Love my Ecode headlights too. Upgraded to 6000K bi-xenon bulbs and they are so much better/brighter than the OEM bulbs.
