    High Pressure Fuel Pump

Are there any upgrades for hpfp like with intercoolers? I read throughout the forums that you can take an A6 diesel intercooler and it's good for at least 400HP on a B8.5 and fita in stock location with only minor mod. Any fuel pump that I can cannibalize on the cheap like that to get similar results without spending 400 for a chunk of machined metal?

Specifically what engine are you talking about? US B8 A5/S5/RS5 engine range includes the CAEB/CEAD 2.0T, CPMA/CPMB flex fuel 2.0T, CALA 3.2L V6, CCBA/CGXC/CTUB 3.0T supercharged V6, CAUA 4.2L V8, and CFSA 4.2L V8. The name might imply 2.0T, but there's no reason to make people guess.

I always forget that. My fault it is the 2.0 engine. CPMA.

CPMA, so EA888 Gen2 2.0T engine. Meaning the Hitachi HPP0010 (aka 250-3070) pump. Not the Hitachi HPP0004 pump on the EA113 2.0T engine. The HPP0004 (250-3064) pump is what most of the upgrades are for, the JHM and the IE and such, it appears. 034 and IE then makes an upgrade for the HPFP on the EA888 Gen3 engine with Hitachi 250-3081 pump (the Gen3 was never used in the US B8 vehicles, just in VW and the Audi VW clone vehicles) But nothing for the Hitachi HPP0010, it appears.

So if I have the HPP0010 does that mean I won't need the upgrade to go k04 in the future? I've ran some live stats through the IE app and saw my fuel pressure push 120 bar on WOT, so is that good enough for k04? Thanks for your answer.

The high pressure fuel system for the Gen2 2.0T is 40 bar idle, 150 bar WOT, 200 bar pressure relief. But that's pressure, not volume. Fuel volume is not a metric available from the engine as delivered.

None of the K04 conversions for the Gen2 2.0T spec any HPFP change. Probably because there isn't any out there anyway.

I would find it odd that you're only pushing 120 bar at WOT. That's less fuel than stock. Was that both actual and specified?

Keep in mind the CPM flex fuel engines also have the G410 LP line pressure sensor as well. The electric fuel pump is spec to deliver 5-6 bar, and has a pressure relief valve in the fuel filter at 8 bar. You can also view the electric fuel pump duty cycle in the measuring values. No idea what the IE app is presenting. I use VCDS.

The fuel pressure was specified and didn't have an actual number. I'll double check in VCDS then.

I was just using IE app for a real-time look because I thought I was having turbo problems due to some lag that wasn't previously present.

Possible that it didn't have a chance to show 150 bar because it was only for a short burst, so I will need to run another test.

    Thanks for the help.
