Sport adaptive damping suspension with aftermarket springs?

Hey guys so I just took delivery of a 2024 b9.5 S5 SB. The vehicle had the Sport's adaptive damping suspension equipped and I was wondering if any aftermarket springs are compatible? I was planning to buy H&R Sports springs from a member on this forum and was curious on how it would fit / affect the Sport's adaptive damping suspension. Thank you!

I would go with EMD over H&R. The EMDs work very well with the ADS dampers. I can provide the springs. 👍🏼

I'll say that although H&R is very reputable, their springs are not the best for this chassis. I am running the ABT HAS and absolutely love them.

I’m happy with my 034 springs. Zero issues and a slightly sportier feel. I drive around in comfort mode everywhere and it is a perfectly acceptable compromise in handling vs comfort.

I was wondering this and couldnt find anyone that mentioned doing this... I have an S4 with ADS and was looking into the 034 springs, but wondering - if they were more stiff (like i have read in some feedback) wouldnt riding in comfort/balanced settings compensate so you dont really notice ?? then you can always go to dynamic when you want even more firmness... seems like its the best of all scenarios.

Think of it this way, the whole ride shifts toward being more sport oriented. So comfort isn’t as comfortable as it was, but is still definitely more “comfort”.

I've had the 034 springs installed for about a month now on my s4. I'm very sensitive to the way the car rides. I bought this car in part because I wanted a comfortable GT, not a sports car. With the 034 springs you're nearly doubling the factory spring rates so its going to ride stiffer and you're going to notice it, especially at lower speeds. You'll feel the imperfections in the road surface more no matter what mode you're using. That said, the ride is not bad or harsh at all, nor is it bouncy. Other than feeling the road more, it feels like each suspension setting was shifted up 1 level overall. Highway driving on my individual settings is great. Dynamic is great to drive in around town, I spend most of my time there. If you want something a bit less stiff go with the EMD springs, the spring rates are closer to OEM.

I,m getting some "creaks and Knocking" noises after installing a set of EMD's on my 2023 S5 coupe. Anyone else have this issue? I'll go back to the installer and let them know.

What I’m really curious about are the Bielstein replacement adaptive shocks. I’ve only ever seen one review and that review said that comfort was more comfortable and sporty was more controlled.

I would love to give those a try at some point.

Front. But it radiated the sound outward so it was to tell where the problem was. Took him a while to find it.
