Remote Start for 2024 Performance?

The 2024 A6 allroad now has remote start through the app, I wonder if this will translate over to the RS6. Anyone?
I don't really have a need for it but in the winter it would be a nice feature to have once in awhile.

Looks like it's a standard feature through the myAudi app. Fees? Don't know.

From the dealership personnel I’ve spoken to - it’s initiated through the myAudi app, and requires the car to be within a certain range of the mobile device for it to work. It also sounds like it will be linked with the Audi Connect plans, requiring a subscription ultimately.

I was told standard and no subscription but I think half the dealers are guessing. The original press release did say it was standard.

Well that’s a disappointing cash grab on a premium car… you do that on the A6 maybe.

My freaking ford pickup has remote start bundled for free, always had. It was shocking to me to find that Audi hadn’t activated remote start when I bought mine, regardless of EU regs (I’m in the US). Audi is supposed to be the Technology Company.

Since this is just a money grab by them now, and is app controlled, can we assume they are rolling out the feature to all of their line? The firmware has to be present in any of their app interface vehicles, I’d assume, and just needs to be activated?

All these OEM’s are chasing a reoccurring revenue model through subscriptions. BMW recently tried it on heated seats and they had to back track due to customer uproar.

I think this approach is a short sighted cash grab that just cheapens the brand long term.

I have remote start on my G80 M3. Think I’ve used it twice in 4 months.
Honestly for me it’s more of a gimmick than something I’d use on the regular.

Maybe I’ll feel different now that winter is approaching but idling cars don’t heat up quickly.

With my truck I use all the time in extreme weather, to cool it down and also to warm it up, when parked outside at work. The heated or cooled seats also help. I can even put it on a timer, to automatically remote start, if I wanted. Made me mad when I discovered that the RS6 didn’t have such a common feature found even in more budget cars. Audi’s direct competitors have it, too.

When I use the remote start on my Honda Ridgeline, if the ambient temperature is low enough it automatically turns on the heated seats and heated steering wheel.

Oh, and no subscription needed.

Audi Connect CARE comes with the car. Its the free tier. Lasts for 10 years IIRC. Sooo if that's the case, remote start won't cost anything additional after purchasing the car and will be available in the myAudi app.
