    Check engine light code P2015

Need some help Audi gang. My check engine light came on and when I pulled the codes I get P2015 “ Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor/Switch Circuit Range/Performance Bank 1”

Planning to purchase a new intake manifold sensor. Looks like it’s a PITA to replace from the YT vide as the intake manifold needs to be removed to gain access. Anyone have additional tips or tricks? Do I need to replace the intake manifold gaskets, etc or can I simply reuse? The car only has 54k miles and runs great. But I can’t stand the check engine light! Thanks in advance

Replace the entire manifold. Or do that, then the solenoid, then get that dumb little linkage repair, just to find out every pivot is worn and it'll never meet commanded. The vw ones used to be a cheaper option but it doesn't look like it anymore

To check the sensor, if you have VCDS, bring up the load flaps measuring value under 01-engine. See what the reading is. Manually move the lever arm on the back end of the intake manifold and see if the value changes accordingly. Should be ~10% "at rest" and ~100% when you fully move the arm.

The common failure of the intake manifold resulting in a P2015 because it broke and the arm is falling out of the IM shouldn't be a problem on a MY15. If you don't have rough idle and misfires, then at least the arm hasn't come out enough to create an air leak.

Ive never seen the sensor fail. It's always the linkage or the vac circuit.

I wish I listened to this advice the first time around. I had a shop tell me it was the ECU. Swapped the ECU and still had the problem. Then swapped the solenoid, still didn't fix it. A year later I ended up just swapping out the whole manifold and voila, no more CEL or P2015 code.

Thanks guys for all the input. Ended up just dropping the car off at the dealer to diagnose as I don’t have the diagnostic equipment and or time. We shall see what they say…

I'm curious on this as well, same code P2015 (2010 A4 bone stock except CTS Catch can and PCV delete and Silicone charge pipes) before and after having installed new Manifold, Potentiometer, flap runner solenoid, purge valve solenoid, all vac lines and check valves, intake air temp sensor. Only thing left is the original throttle body and the vac pump.

You might want to take a look into this part here: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-part...021071ecs01~a/
I had the P2015 code recently and haven’t gotten it since I installed this part.

The vacuum solenoid that controls the flaps. When I had that code the solenoid was seized up

Just as an update, I have to change my manifold because the manifold itself was damaged.

Forgot to update the thread… so took the car to my local Audi dealer. They run their diagnostic and of course come back with the manifold needing to be replaced to the tune of $3668 including walnut cleaning for $495. Parts alone was $2002! Of course I laughed, paid the $200 fee and purchased the necessary parts including the manifold, gaskets, o-rings ,etc on FCP and ECS Tuning for $4xx. The parts list they provided was helpful, but also included double charges like a separate charge for the manifold gasket that’s already included with the new manifold.

Well, whatever they did cleared the code because it’s been a few months and it’s hasn’t come back. Either way I have the parts to do it myself…

Thanks to everyone for the help.
