    Smile 034 Motorsports Mods

Back in mid-April 2023 I took delivery of a new 2023 S5 Sportback. I modified the car from the start with 20" dia x 10" wide Avant Garde M580 wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport AS4 275/30-20 all season tires (decided to forego winter/summer tires based on my experience with my previous 2014 S4).

Prior to the Audi's delivery, during its spring sale, I bought a thicker rear anti sway bar, front strut brace, and transmission mount from 034 Motorsports. Last week I finally had all three installed. I wanted to wait and drive the car for a while so I could more accurately assess the difference the mods made.

    Here are my observations, FWIW.

Sway bar: car corners slightly flatter and with a bit less understeer. It's only noticeable during hard cornering, but it's very nice. No noticeable degradation in ride quality.
Strut Brace: The improvement in steering feel and precision from the strut brace is barely detectable, but it is there if you look for it.
Transmission Mount: The transmission mount was a shocker. The transmission shifts are clearly crisper and there is noticeably less slop when shifting, particularly in sport mode. This pretty much confirms what many others have posted on this forum about the transmission mount change.

Overall, I'm quite happy with the mods and would highly recommend them.

Thanks for posting your impressions. I am about ready to add a RSB and appreciate your feedback. I had wondered about the strut brace. Even watched a couple YouTube videos and felt bad watching the people try to explain their perceived differences with the new strut brace. There is no doubt in my mind that a thicker RSB will change the cornering characteristics but am unsure about the strut brace. I think you would need to be at the limit to notice the improvement from the upgraded strut brace and in my case, when tracking the car, that would be a solid upgrade.

For the price, the question for me is: do you upgrade the RSB and perhaps the strut brace OR do you get a FSB and RSB and forget about the strut brace.
CURRENT: Quantum Grey 2019 S5 Sportback Prestige, Black Optics, S Sport Package

I did notice a difference in stiffness with the front strut brace as far as low speed noise goes. Spots like driveways and uneven neighborhood streets that would make the car creak before no longer creaked after installing the upgraded brace. It also looks great under the hood.

Strut brace is subtle, but I noticed less overall body flex. Transmission mount has to be the best bang-for-the-buck mod ever !! What a game changer. Haven't done sway bars. Can someone tell me how the stock RS5 sway bars compare to the stock S5 sway bars?
Current Fleet: Porsche 718 Spyder * Audi S5 Sportback * Audi RS5 Sportback

The sway bar is shared between many of the A/S/RS models.

My S4 came with the blue marked 19mm bar, as would an RS5.

That said, The Rear Sway Bar kit is certainly a game changer in terms of handling performance. If you're looking to take it up a notch, the Front & Rear Sway Bar kit is makes worlds of difference, even over our RSB kit. It includes an even larger rear sway bar and perfectly matched front sway bar - and is what we run on all of our development vehicles.
