Crazy Question: Tow Hitch on a 2016 (C7.5) S6?

has anyone done this?

i had one on my F82 BMW M4, and it was great for attaching a tow hitch bike rack, and for pulling a small tire trailer for track days.

I put one on my A6, it's not too bad of a job and I'd highly recommend it for a bike rack over roof mounted options. The instructions say to not remove the rear bumper but it's so much easier than removing the rear "diffuser" with trim tools. I often tow a jet ski and it does it absolutely fantastically, I still get 32mpg with it.

yeah, roof mount bike racks mean, inevitably, you will hit something with your bike, some low overhang somewhere, and my bikes are too expensive for that, much less the damage to the car.

what model did you put on your A6?

I did the one off Uhaul's website. Don't get their trailer wiring, do the ZCI zero contact wiring so you don't mess up any resistances in your tail lights and cause a fault code.

There probably won't be much of anything in the American market that says it will fit. You might need to look at European sources for something that will work.

A6/S6 all should work, just might have issues with the rear diffuser and of course the butt end of the car will be slightly lower and potentially hit/drag.
