Landed upon this short from Audi C7 Owners and was wondering if anyone else has installed these check valves before. Has it fixed the cold start chain rattle?

When I did my chains the old cam tensioners had considerably less "spring" in them than the new ones. Not sure if would have helped anything. When getting parts at the local dealer I had a chance to talk with a tech and he never mentioned the check valve. I was having the P0016 and P0018 codes and he said that I probably would have been fine just doing the cam tensioners and nothing else to get the codes to clear.

But when I did get in further I found some chain stretch on the longer chain as well as some marks from the chain gouging a tensioner.

Interesting. I wonder if the old tensioners lose spring pressure over time or if they have less spring pressure than the updated tensioners. Also wonder if the check valves help on cold start to stop oil from draining out of the tensioners. C7 Owners said he'll release a video but it's been a little while so I was wondering if others had done this.

Also looks like that chain is stretched, I wonder if its enough to cause serious problems though. Is there a way to measure the chain stretch on these 3.0T? I come 2.0T world where we can just pull up the cam phase adaptation and check how much its adjusting (If I recall correctly, ~ -6.5 degrees is a tooth of stretch on 2.0T)

The 3.0 has 4 chains and I believe that was the long one that goes to the oil pump. The 2 short chains are for the cams and likely were not as stretched.
