    4.0T pulling P0018 and P0019 code

    Hi all!

Just as the title says: I have a 2013 S8 with the 4.0T engine pulling some fault codes and misfires
The car has done 127.000 miles 3 owner and regularly maintained.

    Background:
some time ago I started the car after it had been sitting for a week.
Direct on startup, I felt rough idle and EPC light and engine light lit. I checked my fault codes once. I had P0018 and P0019, misfire on 8 cylinder and various misfires on bank 2.

Cleared codes, the car now runs ok, EPC(max 4000rpm) and engine lights immediately lights up after startup. sometimes rough idle and misfires, not always.

This is clearly an issue on cylinder bank 2, so I have checked out and change the basics so far.
New oil. new Camshaft sensors (hall senders). Four new Camshaft control valves.
    Still same fault.....

I havenīt checked No:8 Cylinder compression, coil or spark cause I donīt think its the problem, problem must be with the timing it self, but should I?

Can I just removing Cylinder Bank2 valve cover and upper time chain cover and check and adjust timing if needed? or is this a No Brainer to remove engine and transmission, do a fully chain swap with all that is needed?
I really wantīs a second thought or opinion before I pull the engine.

And IF I need to pull the engine, is it possible on the S8 to lift it out, not drop the engine and lift the car.

    Hi,

I know it's months later. What did you end up doing? Has it been resolved? I have similar issue with my C7 S6 throwing the P0019 code. We changed the crankshaft position sensor, cleared the code, and the CEL came back on immediately. Now we are thingking it's the timing chain :(

    Hope you sorted out yours.
