I paid about 23k for my 2014 Volcano red with 81k miles back in march, that was from a dealer in CA fyi. So I’d say you are about the price point especially with the after market rims and exhaust. Idk if you’ve test driven it yet but I have heard that the H&R sport springs makes it a pretty rough ride, I bought a set and returned after reading more reviews.

I just paid 18k for my 2016 with 98k miles and a dealer maintenance history. I looked for a few weeks and it’s definitely hard to find clean ones at this age. It seems that you’re now buying from the 2nd or 3rd owner who may not have been as proactive about maintaining the vehicle. It’s low miles for the age but personally I still think it’s a bit pricey. I think 20k would be more realistic. Also it’s possible that the value nose dives around 100k just from the idea that cars are worthless at 100k miles so that could be a reason for the higher price.

I bought mine on the other side of the mountains in Auburn from a dealer, so prices should be similar I would think.

Mine was mostly stock except a few exterior bits and an APR intake.

Nope you don't buy an B8S4 because it has an automatic...
If you want an auto, get a superchargerd a6/7 or a used b9s4.

The car is too expensive for what it is.
The same throttle body and corn toon as everyone else.
A ported blower and the mega bitch pulley.
Lots of water and wheels lighter than my bank account.

Wiggled down to $23k, is manual your preference or why exactly are you anti-auto on this model? Thanks!

Agreed. I know times have shifted, but I got mine back in 2018 for 28k at 32.5K miles.

No, just that you'll get the same engine and automatic, but more car for the same price. AKA, a bit more value for your dollar. Especially in 2023. If you're buying just for the 'S' badge in 2023 for this gen, you'd be making a mistake imo.

Appreciate the input! What do you guys think its worth? A7s aren't really my vibe, nice just not for me. The 6's I'm seeing have high mileage for around $25-28k in the PNW, this one does have some miles on it but seems well taken care of... would like to pick it up but don't wanna over pay either

Prices seem to still be at a premium in the auto market. Even paying 23k for my 2014 at 81k miles I knew I was over paying but I wanted the color/interior and honestly after searching for several months and not having a car I had to jump on something. If I was you I’d wait and keep looking if you can and possibly look around the country and have one shipped. Idk if I’d wait too long though, with the auto unions striking god knows for how long and what that will do to auto prices in the next year.

I paid $27.5 for my 15' prestige in my sig (stock) with 29,485 miles on it this past May from a private seller.

    Second owner, dealer maintained.

I looked for almost a year before finally biting the bullet.

Mods don't add any value to a used car, often it devalues them depending on what it is.

At $23K with service history and no Sports Diff option it's not a "bad" price, it's just not a smoking deal.

If they still have the factory exhaust, wheels, springs then $23 is a good deal IMO

*EDIT - forgot to list that my car was low miles.

I don’t know what the fear of the dsg is based upon but there are lots of cars with much higher mileage than that with the dsg running just fine. Early models did have some issues but the car you’re looking at is out of that era. Price is up to you. Sure you can find one for 15k if you search. Will it be anything near the condition of the one you’re looking at? Not even close. You have to ask yourself if it is worth it to make payments for possibly five years to come. I wouldn’t be afraid of that mileage Especially if it’s really clean.

If the dsg does have an issue it’s usually just the mech board. Way cheaper and way easier to fix than a clutch on a manual. I wouldn’t let the auto scare you off. These cars are pretty tough and hard parts don’t break on them.

Thats a good price in my opinion.

Manual Trans cars sell for a little more then the DSG cars.

I think for a car with less then 100K miles with a DSG and a clean carfax anything under 25K is a deal as long as the car checks out.

My car with H&R springs and the correct Billstein shocks and struts rides better then stock. I'm not sure if they have been upgraded with these springs on this vehicle, but I wouldnt shy away from a car with springs on a B8/8.5. If done correctly the ride is fantastic and the handling is outstanding with the H&R's.

Then its actually not a bad deal, try for $22,500 and you have a solid deal IMO

Stock springs and wheels are nothing to loose sleep over, having the exhaust is a good thing if you end up selling it later to someone looking for less noise.

if they could *easily* get $23k out of it that you were able to negotiate down to, why wouldnt they just make that easy sell??? even at the $25k they stated, why wouldnt they take the easy way to sell...

maybe because its not worth that much.
they got the car as a trade in for probably $14-$17k, because it might have a clean record and looks clean with wheels, they felt they could jack the price up.
they'll either sucker someone who gets emotionally attached to the car or they'll take it back to auction and maybe break even.

dealerships LOVE car enthusiasts as you can clearly see by some of the examples sale prices being posted here...

They'll def not get that on consignment. Someone else would get a cut and then that takes it back to your offering price. ( I saw the plates and figured it was a dealer).

    It's ok, keep looking.
Anything over $20k is s6/7 money.
    [I'm personally looking for a $15k s6, and I know they're around]
Don't be afraid of higher mileage. I bought my 3rd S4 with 114k/$12k off craigslist and didn't even think twice about mileage.
