Looking for a real explaination - build date vs. Original parts dates

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
If someone has a knowledged information, first hand from Audi -I'd like to please know:

My, special build 06, S4, Avant has a build decal on the door sill of October 2005.
However, in doing the A/C Condenser, Orifice Tube and Schrader valve(s) replacements - I observed, the evap cylinder has a date of 12/2005 on it - WTF?
Then, when I examined the removed condenser - its date is 47/2005 -[week/year] - WTF?

It's been opined that the door sticker, is the date that the vehicle order is entered into the "system" for production to ID the vehicle, on infinitum... ?

Please, respond if you know the real deal answer and explaination - inquiring minds like to know... Thank you.

Production/completion date of component, completion date of vehicle....what so hard to grasp, so many products spans from different years with surplus from earlier years that are a common component...normal manufacturing from outside entities from contracts from the auto maker for parts that span across their whole line up with some specific to certain models....

The point is: The Original Installed at Factory part dates are AFTER the Vehicle Production Date !

The car is 18 years old, who said its a factory part? Maybe the a/c parts are replaced under warranty in the first year, or two. Factory date is at the option sticker near the spare tire or first page maintenance book.
Selling date can be much later.

Can't think can we....vehicle completion date i.e. chassis, what that consists of is manufacture dependent and clearly its prior to power/drive train component installation. Or another explanation could be a leak when testing a completed product and finding a discrepancy and correcting it...I can THINK of multiple different reasons as to why this has happened but if you are that concerned you need to fly to Germany/Europe and find who remembers the process for that time period and location and get your "demanded" answer.

Nope, I ordered in Aug 05, vehicle build date Oct 05, delivery to me/Scottsdale Audi 20 Dec 05 - a/c system, and all service records, never touched, until 2020, leak found.
Highly unlikely - but possible, upon dealer delivery, during prep for delivery to me, the system had some issue, which the dealer warrented, the need to change the canister - but, of course, I was never told that.
But the 47/05 date on the condenser, is - possible, the same reason - but, seems real odd...

The 47 on the condenser could be the 47th week of 2005. That would put it in November which was before you took possession correct?

Yes, that is correct and the puzzler. Also, the evap. canister has a date of 12/05 - (Dec 2005) - the second puzzler... Why I wrote the initial thread... And, yes, the 47 is, 47th week of 2005.
Thank you - you get it ...

Update - "production date" - door jamb vs. actual "leave the Audi Bldg."
In Nov. 23, I had a conversation with a trusted, genuine Audi source about the "dates" for my 06 S4 Avant, that I ordered, "special build", and still own/drive...

Turns out, by research of the VIN - he told me, though the door jamb date is October, my vehicle, actually, "left the bldg." - on 8 Nov 05 !

So, that explains the A/C Denso Condenser date/stamp, (though not the Drier canister date)... [Dec 05]

As he explained it: Perhaps, the door jamb date is the "start" of assembly on the painted "shell, and the "out the door" is the completion date - ready for the "boat ride" to wherever...
    It's logical.

Especially, since an Audi Factory Rep. told me in Feb 2006, in person, [my "holes" in the undercarraige plastic from cinder "kick-up" on the Winter Freeways and Roads of the West!]

He said: "We only make 25-30 of these, (Avants), a month, for North America!"

So, perhaps, they (Audi), has special days of the month wherein they make those S4 Avants - only "they" really know, I guess.
But, this is what I've been told, in person...
