The massive, undivided honeycomb grill in the front is one of my biggest complaints with the aesthetics actually (plus honeycomb pattern in back, which looks tacked on)

There's zero chance Audi's going backwards and splitting the honeycomb grill in half horizontally. That's just camouflage masking, as the 8Y.0 is solid across the grill already to hide the crash bar.

Wouldnt it be nice if audi went back to the split grill? And rotate the engine 90 degrees and throw back in a 6 speed

If they can shed the fake vents on the rear bumper, that in itself is a huge win. The front will just make it look even more like a baby RS6/7.

Agreed, I think most of that masking is just covering stuff on the 8y.

So many people seem to not like the black strip on the back, but it doesn't bug me at all. What I don't like is when the rear valence goes way up the rear bumper. I think that's worse, and that's kinda what it looks like they're doing on the facelift. I like that the black strip is separated from the valence. I don't think the new grill looks better either.

I've only seen one comment about this, and obviously no pictures of it yet. I did see a rumor that they may be eliminating the buttons in favor for a bigger screen. If that's true that'll be interesting. That's a really unnecessary change that I don't think anyone was asking for.

I've always thought audis looked too much like they were made for business men, and that doesn't fit with my personality. Like you need to be wearing a dress shirt and pants when you drive one. With their designs after 2020 it's like they threw all that out of the window. I like the newer designs so much more.

Just get a BMW. RS3 is the only car with 2.5 motor in US, nothing like it, why are we trying to turn it into a M340i?

Facelift doesn’t look like much, I’m gonna get back on dealer list for another RS3 but probably just for added options and maybe AE color. Headlights are a bit busy, wouldn’t hate for them to simplify like S3

Original Sport Quattro was a longitudinal 5 cylinder mated to a manual lol. Allows for true Quattro too.

As for headlights, S3 Prestige and RS3 get the same lights as far as I can tell. Are you talking about the lesser, non-matrix ones?

The facelift will be interesting …

In case you want to see what a body colored grille looks like. Pulled this from Facebook group. I think it looks pretty nice body color matched.

My grille is already mostly hidden. :)

Not sure where but a while ago someone posted his Daytona with the painted grille surround:

I love the 8Y's wider fender and rocker panel look, but I much prefer the 8V for...everything else. I wish Audi would bring the RSQ3 to the US, as I would jump at that

I’m praying we get the S5/RS5 Avant in US, with all the models being cut (I read they might be discontinuing S4/S5 sedan—which while unfortunate—avant!!)

    Updated photos:

    https://www.carscoops.com/2023/11/20...thout-a-hatch/

It looks like Audi toned it down a tad and found that half way point between the 8V and 8Y. Dropped the honeycomb rear, kept the wider fenders. Then gave it the RS6 treatment.

6 months to go...the Audi Canada rumours better be true...

Overall should be an aesthetic improvement, and likely the "final" ICE 5 cyl RS3 so may have collector value. I wonder if the protruding exhaust tips will make it to production

8Y looks amazing in person and I don't think there is a downside to the upgrades from previous version of the RS3 personally. I think the last gen looked neat but too tame I think the current one looks more menacing though it doesn't translate well to pictures.

I agree as our 2019 RS 3 still gets looks and questions at our gas station.
Now at 48,416 total miles of which 34,734 miles have been fast country
back road runs. Only changes to date have been new wheels (18x8.5)
and tires (245/40/18 Michelin AS3+) which significantly improved its
handling and country back road performance at speed.

I agree with the 8Y comments. I was very skeptical until I saw a Tango Red one in person and changed my perspective a bit. I still don't like the rear bumper fake vents, but can get past it.

I still prefer the clean line of the 8V but if we ever get the 8Y in Canada ... I would definitely not hesitate to consider one. I hear they definitely outperform the 8V.

I'm waiting on an allocation w/ expected car arrival Aug 2024. That's so close to the 2025 model year I'm considering just waiting / might not have a choice. Other than the facelift is there any info out there on other potential changes?

There is a rumour that it will get a power bump to slide better between the MB A/CLA-AMG and BMW M2. I think it will likely just be an ECU tweak though, can't imagine anything crazy like strapping a new turbo on there or anything drastic tweaking the engine.

    I am waiting to trade in my MK7.5 R for a 8Y.5 RS3 as well, tbh I would take the 8Y or 8Y.5 RS3.

Audi stopped all development and research on ice engines so don’t expect any serious upgrade.

It’s a shame. The S58 is a monster engine. They are beating built engine daza’s easily.

With the market cooling, the M2 will be the easiest way into an S58. I haven’t read about any physical differences, it just looks like it’s detuned vs the
    M3/M4.

I was really eyeing the 8Y since I have an 8V, but I really have a hard time justifying it over the S58 cars from BMW.
