Vag eeprom software

Hello all, I’m new here, but I am having issues with my b6 a4 and need to retrieve my immobilizer skc. After doing some research I found that vag eeprom 1.9 is the best option, the only issue is that when searching for where to get it from i only find sketchy download sites. Can someone who has the program please point me in the right direction?

That link to me to a website that asked me to type in "vag eeprogrammer v1.19g" lmgtfy.com to be exact. It seemed very sketchy... Is that the correct link or did someone hack it?

Thanks Gunnarrrrr. I too have a few copies downloaded from some very sketchy places. I didn't have the guts to mess with my SKC with any one of those versions. I have no clue what could have been sideloaded into those copies. I'm keeping yours as the go-to from now on.

I’ve had a few copies from questionable sources that may or may not have worked, but i’ve done a few cluster swaps with this copy now without issue

What cable are you using with this. I have VCDS cable. will that work or do I need a clone type cable.

I downloaded vag eeprom 1.19 off some scratchy website and for the life of me can't get it to work. I'm using a kkl 409.1 amazon cable with a ftdi vcp driver installed. Any chance I could get a copy of a vag eeprom from one of you that I know works!

I've read you need windows 7 to get it to work. Any newer version of windows OS isn't compatible.

this may sound strange, but for laptops i’ve always needed windows 7 to get it to work. However, I’ve used bench harnesses with clusters on two different desktops on windows 10 and 11 and it worked flawlessly every time. Just never worked on anything other than windows 7 on any laptop i’ve ever tried.

I've hosted on my G:drive for years.

Good luck getting it past windows defender.. it's a VIRUS!! Seriously, sometimes you have to get forceful with the download.

Same experience here, I was running it fine in a windows 10/11 virtual machine on a Linux box, but it (and "my copy" of vcds lite) refused to work on my laptops with anything other than windows . I do now have a windows xp virtual machine that I spin up on a MacBook for VCDS and VAG EEPROM now though instead of the dedicated laptop.

As a side note, if you do have a spare cheapo laptop you can dedicate to sketchy software it's a good idea to just never connect it to a network (even when installing the os, only ever use a usb key to move data to it from another computer). Or use something like virtual box without any of the sharing features enabled...

THIS ^ is exactly what I have and do. Bought OLD giant Win7 laptop that does nothing but OBD.

I’ve since retrofitted three different clusters with windows ten. sometimes it just works
