    2015 Q5 may be dead?

Just got some really bad news on my 2015 Q5 PP. It has 100k on it and has been burning oil badly for a while, about 1 qt every tank. Tried to get Audi to cover it but no luck. I already bought another car and my plan was to sell it as is and be honest about the oil consumption issue. Then it started having major misfires. Was thinking may be the PCV so changed that but no change. Took it to my indy and turns out the exhaust valve broke. I saw the pictures and it looks like part of the valve top just broke off. Basically being told it now needs a new engine. Cost for new engine and installation is $10k.

I am not sure what my next move should be with this and was hoping those with some experience here may have some suggestions. I figure I have 4 options
    1. Spend the $10k and put the new engine and then sell.
    2. Sell the car as is to someone who wants to take on putting a new engine in.
    3. Donate it. (but who wants a car that doesn't run)
    4. Junk it

My concern with putting the new engine in is it will basically cost almost as much as it is worth when all is said and done, and suspect I would get more value out of it by selling as is, but not sure that's possible. If I do sell it as is, what/where is the best way to list it?

Thoughts? Any options I am not considering.

Anyone in Western North Carolina looking for a project car ???

    Thanks!

I've seen vehicles for sale on Facebook and Craig's that need an engine. Take a look on eBay for what used engines are going for and deduct that plus something for labor. Use private party comps or KBB for base price. Of your willing to go option 4, I'm sure you can negotiate something for it on the classifieds.

    2.0T ?

    Don't put $10k into it.

Put it on FB/CL and be honest, maybe you'll get a few bucks for it. If you want to the put the effort into dismantling and selling part off of it, that might be worth a shot. Or sell it to a dismantler (junk yard).

Due to the oil consumption it needed new piston rings or a new engine before the exhaust valve broke anyway.

No point in option 1. Doubt you'd get that money back.

If your patient, clean up the car nice, and take good photos you can put it on craigslist or fb as a mechanics special and still get a decent buck for it.

I have had good luck selling junked cars to https://www.peddle.com. You will get more than a junkyard, but probably less than FB Marketplace.

    All,
Thanks for the input! Much appreciated. Ended up selling as is.
