Hey guys to start I have issues with horn not working, airbag light on, steering controls light up but don’t work. My climate control doesn’t work only on defrost. I ran some codes not on vcds but here’s what it ran 1317 instrument cluster no comm, 1304 radio no signal/comm, task alive monitoring system 1303, task alive monitoring system 1301, supply voltage b+ signal to low 532, 474 static no description available, controls on steering wheel no signal comm 1426, so far checked all fuses relays and changed the battery. I really just need the ac to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the book.

Problems like this usually stem from water intrusion into the ECU box corroding the main relays in there or getting under the drivers side carpet into the CCM box and corroding it.

Okay so the ecu box including the 614 relays i checked them with a 9 volt battery and they click. Maybe I’ll just go order the one that looks the worst I’ll look into the ccm box. Thanks for the feedback.

Just because they "click" Sony mean theyre making good contact. Was there any evidence of water ingress, in the ecu box?

A little bit of water. Definitely. The weird thing I swapped the two last night because they’re the same started the car still no fix. Did a little digging down where the ccm box is but didn’t get it out. Wake up this morning start the car and everything is working. So I go out and buy a new relay put it in and now nothing. I’m gonna get out the ccm and see what it’s looking like.

The ccm looks fine and had a weather case over it. Now I don’t even know maybe wiring?? I’ll post a picture of the ccm. If I can.

That case doesn’t do a very good job of keeping the water out. Plenty of bad modules from water intrusion. The basic mechanism for water getting into the ECU box and then down into the drivers side floor is buildup of leaves and other crap blocking the drainage ports in the cowl/rain tray.

Yeah I read that online. I wish I could post pictures the ccm looks brand new no signs of water at all. Do you suggest ordering a new one? I know I’m on the right track because it worked this morning. Unfortunately I decided to go buy a new relay. Replaced the one closest to the car since it looked the worse and bam it stops working again. I’ve spent at least 12 hours troubleshooting and trying to figure this out.

If you didn’t see any corrosion on the terminals when you unplugged the cables then I wouldn’t order one. I would try to grab one from a local pick n pull. Whenever I get something like that I tell them it is a relay which is pretty cheap. I’ve never had to change one but there might be coding required if it’s a protected module.

Okay the two relays I bought today were off brand. I might order two used good ones off eBay just in case the off brand is causing the issue. How about the part where the relay plugs in? If that’s corroded then could be a possibility? I just want my AC back not to worried about everything else.

Always check both sides of the connection for the creepy green death. If there is corrosion in the plugs you can carefully use a pick and electrical contact cleaner to blast it off. Just be sure to not expand the terminals with the pick. Always good to check your grounds as well. There are several under the drivers side dash and kick panel.

I’ve checked all my grounds the next thing I’ll do is do a best attempt to clean them. That will be the next thing I do. Because there’s definitely some green and white stuff all up in there. I’m thinking that has to be the problem since it worked earlier. I’ll follow up tomorrow with results. Thanks again Gowking!

Cleaned those relay connectors up pretty good and still same issue. What’s getting me is that it’s intermittent. Would make sense if it’s just didn’t work at all. But for it to work then I swap the relays and it doesn’t. I’m gonna keep trying till I figure it out.
