Needing a new clutch for my 1.8t. Looking for the best recommendations. Rockauto has a few kits from M-PACT, just not sure how reputable they are.

    Thanks

Really? You're going to buy the cheapest chinesium shit clutch kit available on the market? Why?? Just buy a sachs, valeo or luk that's what the cars came with from the factory. That's not a job you want to be doing twice for no reason.Change the slave cylinder while you're there.

I replaced my clutch with a Valeo SMF HD kit, very happy with it. While I was down there I replaced the rear main seal, Clutch fork, Slave cylender and pilot bearing. All preventitive maintenence.

Hey, I know what it's like to have to pinch pennies just to keep your car on the road, but as said above, the clutch is not one of those places.
    Buy an OEM quality clutch.

And another vote for the Valeo SMF kit. I installed mine 11 years ago and it is still performing flawlessly!

I ran a Valeo single mass conversion kit on my B6 and it had no issues putting big turbo power to the ground and plenty of abuse after rwd swapping it. A clutch job on one of these cars is not something you want to do more than you have to and the Valeo kit is very affordably priced for what you get IMO. Do the throwout bearing and rear main seal while you're in there.

Another vote for Valeo, I think I'm coming up on 10 years on mine! APR Stage 2+ tune and no issues.

Another for the Valeo SMF kit. 40k+ miles on it so far and still feels great holding Motoza stage 1+ power.

Yep. I've had my Valeo SMF kit in for nearly 6 years. I can definitely recommend it. https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...1#post12651852

The caveat was mentioned by OG that you have to be more precise with clutch engagement from a standstill.
It's mind over matter. But if you don't have a mind, it really doesn't matter.

Hard to beat going with Valeo. PACT seems to be US based, but figuring out coo is challenging.

One reason the smf conversion became popular is the cost of a dual mass flywheel. Those have dropped in price to the point where it's just a matter of a few dollars and personal preference.
