Bought a used 2020 Audi A4 bluetooth does not work I cant turn on

So I bought a used 202 Audi A4. It doesn't allow me to pair my phone when I try it gives me this message "The selected system is currently unavailable" it doesn't even try to search for any phone connections. I try to go to the bluetooth menu and turn it on but it's grayed out and doesn't allow me to turn it on it is turned off. I also keep getting this message "no data connection could be established please check the network coverage".

I did run a scanner on it for problems and the codes that came up were "U111000" , U10BA00, B1A06F1, and B1A06F2.

Anyone know what might be the problem? I tried disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and nothing. I tried resetting the MMI with the master button and nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Take it to the dealer and have them diagnose it. Quick search revealed it could possibly be a faulty SOS module.

Agreed. Was it a CPO, or still under factory warranty...hopefully.

When you said you got the network error that was my first thought to, I've been doing some research on that module lately as my new 2023 Allroad is displaying an SOS error and then it came up with the network error, car no longer checks in with the app, etc. That one module is supposed to control SOS, wifi, and BT. Oddly, my BT is still working which is good I guess since dealer can not get us in until the 17th.

Anyway, that module seems to be a weak point for this generation, lots of chatter about it that I found.

Just wanted to chime in here. My SOS module went out at the beginning of this year. BT still worked though just not the other network services like Audi Connect. Replaced under warranty. 2019 Sportback.

Thank you for the responses yes it has extended warranty thankfully I made an appointment to take it to the dealership that’s what I suspect that it’s the module.

MY19 uses a ConBox Low config with MIB2. It's different than the ConBox High config used with MIB3. And the MY20 ConBox is know to be flaky, and often on long back order. Bluetooth in a MIB3 config is on the J949 ConBox (75-Telematics), not on the J794 MIB unit (5F-info electronics). (And MY18 and earlier as relevant used Connected Gateway, not a ConBox)

The issue isn't getting any better with the new ones either. Just got a brand new 2023 A4 Allroad, and at 300 miles, the Bluetooth, Android Auto, and Audi Connect LTE connection all intermittently stop working, where they'll work for one trip, not work for the next, then start working again (or start working half way through a trip). And it's not my phone, because when it happens it shows no phones setup and if you try to add a phone the button is grayed out and says about the Bluetooth "the selected system is unavailable."

I bought it from Audi in Monterey CA (who has been great), but live in Austin TX and had it shipped here.

I initially reached out to Audi North Austin to get it fixed under warranty. Audi North Austin initially responded with (and I quote from the text message): "The required modules are on an indefinite backorder, so I, unfortunately, do not have a fix for the concern at the moment." Given that, they didn't even want to open a repair order (and I believe they're talking about the telecommunications module).

I then pushed more on opening the repair order, and ordering the part, to at least be on the backorder list, and the service advisor started to open the repair order, then order the part, and let me know: "I just checked in with Parts and was advised we are not currently placing those orders. Audi is manufacturing a new part with a new part number that we do not have the details on yet. You should receive some kind of notice in the mail once a fix is available."

After that, I called the dealer in CA who sold it to me if there's anything they could do. That day, they escalated to Audi corporate, and the next day I got a call from the service manager at Audi North Austin who said actually they could potentially fix it, and asked if I could bring my car in for them to take a look at it. Audi Monterrey CA also gave me Audi Care for the inconvenience and run-around (that wasn't even caused by them) which was above and beyond in trying to make this right.

So I brought my car in to Audi North Austin, they reprogrammed the telecom module to potentially "fix this" while also opening a case with the Audi techs in Germany and taking some info in case this doesn't fix it. Well, it's been a day, and I'm back to the Bluetooth, etc., not working again. So I called Audi North Austin back who said sorry, known issue, it's been an issue for a number of months, Audi is working on potentially designing a new part, but we have no idea when the part will be available. Until then, the SA said he'd check with his manager, but there's likely not much they can do. I was told it could be weeks, months, or years until the new part is ready, and they have no information from Audi on when that will be.

Hey just to give an update in case it could help anyone else it was a faulty Emergency control Module which was replaced as well as the Gateway Module. Bluetooth is working now but carplay isn't......... Now that's the problem.
