The issue isn't getting any better with the new ones either. Just got a brand new 2023 A4 Allroad, and at 300 miles, the Bluetooth, Android Auto, and Audi Connect LTE connection all intermittently stop working, where they'll work for one trip, not work for the next, then start working again (or start working half way through a trip). And it's not my phone, because when it happens it shows no phones setup and if you try to add a phone the button is grayed out and says about the Bluetooth "the selected system is unavailable."
I bought it from Audi in Monterey CA (who has been great), but live in Austin TX and had it shipped here.
I initially reached out to Audi North Austin to get it fixed under warranty. Audi North Austin initially responded with (and I quote from the text message): "The required modules are on an indefinite backorder, so I, unfortunately, do not have a fix for the concern at the moment." Given that, they didn't even want to open a repair order (and I believe they're talking about the telecommunications module).
I then pushed more on opening the repair order, and ordering the part, to at least be on the backorder list, and the service advisor started to open the repair order, then order the part, and let me know: "I just checked in with Parts and was advised we are not currently placing those orders. Audi is manufacturing a new part with a new part number that we do not have the details on yet. You should receive some kind of notice in the mail once a fix is available."
After that, I called the dealer in CA who sold it to me if there's anything they could do. That day, they escalated to Audi corporate, and the next day I got a call from the service manager at Audi North Austin who said actually they could potentially fix it, and asked if I could bring my car in for them to take a look at it. Audi Monterrey CA also gave me Audi Care for the inconvenience and run-around (that wasn't even caused by them) which was above and beyond in trying to make this right.
So I brought my car in to Audi North Austin, they reprogrammed the telecom module to potentially "fix this" while also opening a case with the Audi techs in Germany and taking some info in case this doesn't fix it. Well, it's been a day, and I'm back to the Bluetooth, etc., not working again. So I called Audi North Austin back who said sorry, known issue, it's been an issue for a number of months, Audi is working on potentially designing a new part, but we have no idea when the part will be available. Until then, the SA said he'd check with his manager, but there's likely not much they can do. I was told it could be weeks, months, or years until the new part is ready, and they have no information from Audi on when that will be.
