Just Had Our '23 District Green S5 Ceramic Coated ...

We had our 2011 Jet Blue S4 ceramic coated back in 2018. We were totally impressed with how great it looked and how durable and long-lasting the finish was. We just had to have the same treatment applied to our new District Green S5. Tim of Reflective Surfaces in the Columbus Ohio area is the detailer who performed the work on each of our Audis. His passion for detailing, obsession for perfection and his use of the very best products and application techniques is why we entrusted him to work on our vehicles.

He has an exceptionally well-done and informative website. It covers a wealth of information on all aspects of detailing your vehicle, including the interior, exterior, engine compartment, wheels, glass, etc. His website also has a portfolio showing the quality of his work on a wide variety of cars, all with very impressive results. Here's a link to his website for additional information: http://www.reflectivesurfaces.net

Of course every detailing thread here on Audizine needs photographic proof, so here are pics that illustrate the results achieved on our S5 Sportback. Hint: click the icon of the small yellow triangle with ! mark for larger size photos:

I dropped my car off Friday evening and picked it up Sunday afternoon. I could have picked it up earlier Sunday but the wife had been after me to see the Columbus Zoo for years, so we did that and afterwards picked the car up.

Regarding price, if you click on the "About" link on the Reflective Surfaces website, you'll see that he does a full inspection on every car, including testing paint thickness with an electronic gauge. As noted on that web page, "My intake document includes a complete set of inspections and a full disclosure and sign-off on work to be done so expectations are clear for both parties. ... I take the time to complete a full overview of the vehicle for pre-existing conditions such as dents, scratches, or paintwork. Sometimes, I find damage or paintwork that the current owner wasn't even aware of, especially on vehicles they purchased used. This documentation ensures we both acknowledge the identified damage or defects. I also perform a second full inspection after the initial wash, as dings and scratches can be masked by dirt and revealed once the surfaces are clean. I notify the owner before beginning any work."

My S5 only has 3.5k miles on it, essentially a "new car". I dropped it off freshly washed and clean -- not that it had to be, but I'm OCD about its care. Following Tim's inspection when you first drop off the car, he provides the estimate of the price you'll pay. I was quoted and paid $925. Of course the price and time involved can also vary by the detailing options you choose, e.g., if you want the engine compartment and/or interior detailed, etc.

Like you, I need to have someone I trust to work on my baby, and that's precisely why wouldn't go to anyone else for detailing. His work on our 2011 S4 (in 2018) was exceptional, which made the decision to have him do our new S5 an easy decision. Finally, I'd suggest looking through the owner testimonials on the Reflective Surfaces website: http://www.reflectivesurfaces.net/testimonials.html. They'll give you a feel for wheat you can expect when your car is detailed here.

Car looks great. I’m typically not a green person but I could certainly do that one. Your pics really compliment the color. Of course, with the ceramic it looks wet.

Thanks Ben! You've got to be getting close to your District Green Coupe arriving. Looking forward to seeing it and all the special Nemesis touches it's going to have.

You're welcome! We're a bit over 2 hours from him and it was well worth the drive.

I've had a few green cars ('72 Karmann Ghia, '75 Scirocco, an 80-something Pontiac that was stolen and a ''96 Bright Surf Green GTI). We contemplated an Audi Exclusive color but didn't want the added cost (~$5900) or extended build (~2 months or more) delay. Very pleased with District Green and its gold pearl undertone. We've recently been seeing darker green paint on Jeeps and various other marques but they don't compare to Audi's District Green.

WOW! Thanks so much for the kind words Don!

It's been a while since I've been back to visit my friends here at AZ but I'm glad you suggested it. I'm very glad you and the wife are happy and had the thought to come down to seem me again. I've been very blessed to have met folks from as far away as Illinois and PA even and continue to enjoy meeting so many great people. As I shared with you, I don't publish or push my site or efforts, it's all 100% word of mouth and repeat visits, typically with a yet another car :)

I'll let my portfolio both interior and exterior works tell the story. http://www.reflectivesurfaces.net/portfolio.html

Happy to help anyone in need. Best place to reach me is through the contact section on my site as I'm not on AZ much anymore.

I have a DIY somewhere on these or S4 forums for how to do it yourself for about $200. It's not rocket science, but involves a lot of elbow grease.
