Hey AZ! I wanted to post a question here for all of y'all that have Alcantara seats? Like 'em? Hate 'em? Cleaning a pain?

I only have around 1200 miles on mine but I like them a lot. I would have been fine without them but even the steering wheel has it which has a great feel to it.

I opted for the alcantara in my rs5 sb. The only downside is you can't change the ambient light color without the nappa leather package. I'd still rather have the soft grippy alcantara with cross stitching. so nice.

Here's a somewhat dated, but informative post covering the care and cleaning of Alcantara surfaces:

Not trying to nit pick but the Comp seats use Dinamica, not Alcantara. They are actually different products, however the only real difference I have found online is... The primary difference between the two fabrics is that Dinamica is slightly thicker (0.9 – 1.1 mm) than Alcantara (0.83 – 1.0 mm), and on average less expensive.

That said, I like how the seats look as it adds some contrast. It's something unique to the Comp package so that is a small bonus. I have zero prior experience with either product, so I am a little concerned about how they will wear over time. I may not keep my RS5 17 years like my last car (actually sill have it. My son drives it now), but who knows.

I've had Alcantara in a bunch of my Audis and I prefer it to the full leather. It's warmer in the winter, cooler in the summer and grips your butt better during spirited driving. What's not to like ? As deejayh mentioned above, you miss out on the ambient color adjustment which was no big deal for me.

I love, and prefer, alcantara seats whenever I can order them. I had them on my 2010 S4 and wasnt able to order them again until my 2019 S4 and now my 21 S5. They dont get as cold in the winter or as hot in the summer. They dont really get dirty unless you spill something on them, but no food should be in the car anyway lol.

Respond to a post with an answer, they will keep asking questions. Teach them how to RTFM, they will learn to help others.

Thats good to know! I was disappointed that ventilated seats isn't an option.

Another thumbs-up from me. Have them in my S4, and had Fine Nappa leather in my previous two cars. I miss the smell of the Fine Nappa, but comfort and grippy seating surface of the Alcantara is superior. I've got 35K miles on mine, and they look almost new.

    This 100%.

Had my 2011 S4 for 11 years that had the Nappa leather, and now have the Alcantara in my '22. Don't miss the leather one bit - the leather got so much hotter in the summer months in FL, and when I would wear shorts the back of my legs would stick to the thigh extender. My folks have an '08 S4 and the Alcantara still looks great.
