KW HAS or MSS Adjustable Springs for 8Y 2023 RS3

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys

Any suggestions or reviews of KW HAS or MSS for the new RS3. I am hearing too many stories that the standard springs are messing up the nice ride of the 8Y.

    Any info is much appreciated!

I would be curious to know this as well as I just want my RS3 to sit lower and not affect the ride quality.

Do you have any pics of your 8Y after the springs install?

I am on KW HAS about .75 inch drop. The ride is very compliant and not overly stiff or bouncy. I like them a lot.

Biggest complaint is they are a PIA to adjust height on as you have to take the springs out to adjust them. The rears spin freely when trying to adjust so there isn’t a way to do that without removing the spring or gluing the perch to the car. Front you can’t access the perch with the wrench without removing them. Labor will be more for HAS installed compared to just springs.

I have an 8Y incoming shortly and am leaning towards the Neuspeeds possibly. Any issues after spring installs with the DCC (recalibration required?) or alignment?

Neither, both are terrible to adjust....As others have stated, if you just want to lower the car a bit get some quality lowering springs, Vogtland, Neuspeed, Eibach, etc. If you really want to go full send and corner balance and want the adjustability then go with a quality coilover, 8Y uses the same suspension as the 8V aftermarket wise as an fyi.

Thanks for all the input guys. I have used Eibach springs on a few nice cars in the past with success, but this time around I am reading that the standard springs are really messing up the ride quality on the 8Y. I may consider the Neuspeed route this time so thank you for posting that pic Alanjayyy!

I had a shop install it for me and they had to recalibrate the sensors for the suspension from what I was told

Did you use the spring pads on the rear as it look like it can go lower without them.

Not too sure about the pad but I believe the shop installed it with the pad. And yeah 12mm front and 10mm back and no issues or noise what so ever

For those of you who are using a KW HAS setup, are you also running some camber plates…to get some additional camber?
I just to make sure that it fits together.

I was thinking of using either 034 or SuperPro together with KW HAS.
I like the idea of fine tuning the ride height to my own liking, but not necessarily going the whole way with full coilover setup.

KW HAS or MSS Adjustable Springs for 8Y 2023 RS3

Just an FYI I returned the KW HAS kit as a bunch of 8Y rs3 folks are having noises from the aftermarket bearings they come with. I uninstalled them from my 23 rs3 and returned it for refund. KW honored their warranty. I picked up neuspeed lowering springs with the pads and will be installing a couple week on the new car.

We have better feedback on the 2022+ KW HAS kit then the prior generation.

I got new bearings last year from KW and paid for install a 2nd time and still noisy on my 2023 RS3. I suggest folks do their homework. If you are fine with potential noises at low speeds or backing up then it could be ok. Most people recommend the KW DCC setup or static springs with OEM bearings.

I am very hesitant with suspension mods these days because, to be honest, I've never had a car with aftermarket suspension components NOT make some sort of annoying noise and I've had a lot of modded cars. Looking back, I believe the only car I've had that had a factory-tight suspension, even after I modded it, was a 1995 Mazda MX-5.
