2019 Audi Q5 with 40k miles
Just purchased at the beginning of May. Immediately noticed what feels like a “jumping” or something of the sort from the rear of the vehicle when accelerating hard while turning from a dead stop. It does not happen when accelerating hard in a straight line from a dead stop, which leads me to believe it is something with the drivetrain/rear differential/AWD system.
Brought it back to the Audi dealer where it was purchased because it still has a few months of warranty. They supposedly did the 50k service, oil change, transmission service, and put two new tires on the rear to match the tread depth of the front.
When we brought it in we told them it felt like there was an issue with the rear differential and explained the above.
Is this normal with these models? Something with the AWD system? I know it’s hard to know what I’m describing without sitting in or driving the vehicle..
I’ve owned 3 different Audis before this one, but they were all sedans (b7 A4, and two C7.5 A6s). I’ve also driven a 2023 A4 pretty hard when we had it as a loaner when the Q5 was just getting serviced for a couple days. I haven’t felt what I’m describing about the Q5 before in any of the other Audis.
Any help or additional questions to help me sus out what’s going on here will be greatly appreciated!
