Hi there, i have one question about the speakers in a stock sound system A4 B8 2011 NFL.
I have the standard 8 speaker system ( 2 rear door big speakers and 2 rear door tweeters also 2 front door big speakers and 2 dashboard tweeters ( not on the doors, the ones close to the windshield, in the corners )
My question is: How can i upgrade them without an external amp, what spekers specs i need to look for?
    Thank you!

So you have the "basic" (8RX) sound system, compared to the "standard" (9VD) or "B&O" (9VK) sound systems. They are run by a 4x20w amp built into the radio unit (in the dash if Chorus/Concert/Symphony, or in the left rear if MMI 3G).

It's the same layout as the standard sound system, minus the center channel and subwoofer. The difference is the front "doors" are run with 40w amp channels. In fact, the 8RX and 9VD use the same speakers in the rear doors and for the front tweeters. So you might look at what people with the standard sound system are doing also. But keep in mind the results might not be the same as your fronts have half the power available.

I don't have advice on speaker choice; simply some environmental details for those who might need to answer your inquiry.

So, for example, i can't put the B&O one's because they are more powerfull and they can fry my radio unit ( btw, i have the Symphony radio )

Well, what are you trying to do? Retrofit the 9VD system? Retrofit the B&O system?

The dash radio units (Concert / Symphony) have a coding bit to tell it to either output amplified signal for speakers for non-amplified output to pass as an input to a J525 (external sound system processor and amplifier; the thing that would be in the back left if you had the standard or B&O sound system). The amp for the standard and B&O systems is not the same. One is 6-ch, one is 10-ch.

So if you were looking to dump all the speakers for new ones and run a new aftermarket amp, you'd just change the coding bit on the Symphony and run wires from the correct pins on it to the inputs on the external amp solution. Unlike MMI, the benefit of Symphony is you can simply tap normal copper output lines and run whatever backend solution you want.
