Hope I can post this question here!
I planning to upgrade my car from an S7 2014 but not sure what to buy. Is it the new S7 2023/2024 or go for the Etron GT
I don’t buy and sell cars so often my current S7 had it since 2014 as first owner.
I use my car daily, but cant make a decision especially as the Etron GT is still new not sure how it will preform of the coming years. Appreciate you thoughts. Thank you

I think you're comparing apples to oranges here. I'm still not sold on electric. I love my S6 and all the gurgles it makes.

Personally, the etron styling is not for me. I would take them both for a ride and see what you like. The S7 is Def a looker compared to the Etron if you ask me. I believe the Etron however is much quicker.

    I agree. I have a 2020 S7 and a 2018 Tesla M3 (I know not the same). It’s no etron but it’s electric.

Ask yourself how much you drive in a day?
Do you like waiting (if you had to wait before you make it to your final destination)?

The M3 hates the midwest. And the heat ain’t better. So the electric lifestyle is really on how you live. Whereas gas can fit nearly anywhere. Now if you are looking at a S7 or etron, gas money shouldn’t matter.

I personally love my S7. The burbling from the exhaust is addicting. And it does catch quite a lot of attention.

My Tesla is faster by a tad bit. But it’s not fast enough for me to make it my commuter car. And range anxiety is something I don’t want to deal with ever again after almost getting stranded. Lost 120-150 miles of range in 60 miles when the weather was floating around the single digits.

Only benefit I see from the electric is remote starting. As the mobile features for the S7 is useless.

Hopefully that helps. But I think you need a etron owner to chime in.

I think the GT will ultimately prove the better on all of your four categories. Assuming your electric charging infrastructure works for you. If you think about it, Audi thinks that way too. But emotion rules whether we admit it or no. And emotion is famously irrational.

I’m assuming you’re looking at the regular etron gt and not the RS etron or you’d be looking at the RS7 instead of the S7

    1. S7 looks sleeker. And with the looks it’s also practical. Having the hatchback is amazing. Hard to switch to a regular sedan after being spoiled by it. I get compliments everytime I fill up

    2. GT is faster by less than a half a second. BUT. Range is only 230miles for that GT. So if you’re going to be flooring it. Just know that it’ll drop fast. Tech will be better on the GT. S7 you get a exhaust that pops and bangs (only in dynamic mode). My mpgs are around 17-19. I floor it / redline it a lot. So about 250miles with my driving. If you’re calm. You’ll see 350 easily.

    3. GT is too new to tell. I have had issue with my Tesla and the dealer is the only one that can touch it… S7 shares its engine with a few VW models (RS5, Macan, S6) so if there’s problems you won’t be alone. Maintenance is typical Audi. 10k services, get Audi care. Problem solved. I have 20k miles right now. No issues. My previous A7 only had issues when around 80k miles but it was running stage 2 tune at 500hp. So I’m the reason it had problems.

    4. Electric cars don’t deprecate as hard as the gasoline ones is what I’m seeing. But that could be because gas prices. You could save 10-20k if you spring for a used one with under 10k miles. With current market conditions. Your resale will be better than precovid era.

I wanted to add modifiability. I have tuned my car (JB4). Added cold air intake. Chopped the resonators off and will be getting a RS7 grill to swap in. Can’t really do those things on electric.

Wooow thanks for all the insight spot on. Thank you
My current car is S7 but 2014 and after 9 years to many issues so decided to sell and not sure which one to buy the new S7 or Etron GT
For the GT will be waiting for the 2024 as there is a face lift and expected to a larger battery for better mileage
