RS Style Oval Exhaust Tips on B9 S5?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Is there an RS style exhaust tip for B9 S5 sportback? Thinking the rear valance would also need to be changed?

I've not seen anything, and since the stock tips are welded on, I'm not sure there is an option, but wanted to check with the community.

The stock chrome tips just get charred so quickly. I've heard of black tips and Cerakote, but would also like a little more style than the stock tips. My car supposedly has black optics package, so not sure why the tips are chrome. Not looking to replace the exhaust.

    Show me your exhaust tips!

    TIA

So you'd want to go from quad tips to dual. You can buy the tips AWE and Milltek have the RS5 exhaust for example with clamp on tips so you can order from them. Just tell them they were damaged and you need replacements I suppose. AWE doesn't sell them separately if I remember correctly.

You'd just cut off the stock tips and have the new ones welded on. I did the same on my S4 when I had a custom stainless exhaust but I prefer quad tips. I've also seen the carbon fiber Akrapovic exhaust tips which looks nice but there are a ton of knockoffs.

I had a shop paint mine black along with some other pieces(rear wing, diffuser, side blades, front side pieces) since mine is a 2018 and didn't have the black optics package. It looks so much better with the black accents.

Excellent, nice and clean. Looks like it came from the factory that way.

Next up on the mod list, Milltek RS Road+ Mufflers!

This one has been a long journey.. What started as me just wanting to change the ugly pitted stock exhaust tips ended with what will probably be a full custom exhaust lol.

My original plan was to keep the stock exhaust exactly how it was since I really like how it sounds paired with my Milltek cat delete and just change the tips. Of course I couldn't just settle on getting regular 3.5-4" quad tips and be done with it. I came up with the idea to run Milltek RS oval tips from the RS4/RS5. I always loved how these tips looked and the presence they make. I get it's not for everyone and some will gripe about "oh you're running Milltek tips without a Milltek exhaust", yada yada. Well I wanted to be different and do something that you don't see all the time. Sooo that landed me on the dual inlet RS oval tips from Milltek. I reached out to Mops and Martin over at Nemesis to see if they could source me a set of tips and what luck because Martin had a set left over from his RS5 that he did not need. It was meant to be! lmao. He hooked me up with a great price and the journey begins.

I ordered adapters, clamps, basically everything that I thought I needed in order to make these work. I would cut the stock tips off and boom slide the new ones on. HA HA HA. Did not go as planned. The spacing from the muffler outlet and tip inlet wasn't the same and wouldn't line up. So after pondering a few ideas, I took it to a local shop that basically yeah we don't want to mess with it. It doesn't look like it's going to work. Well F!

I reached back out to Martin and lo and behold, he had a set of Milltek Road+ mufflers from his RS5 that he doesn't need either. A massive thanks to him for hooking me up and sourcing this whole project.

I received the mufflers, got in contact with a new shop (big shout out to @Trexturk on IG) and got them all mounted up. He did an outstanding job lining everything up and tucking the massive mufflers up under the car perfectly. I couldn't be happier with how they look. Aggressive but not out of place.

Due to the mufflers being Road+ they are packed incredibly tight with resonating material so my exhaust is significantly more quiet now which I'm not a fan of. It didn't really dawn on me at first but makes sense now since the stock mufflers are so small. Next up I'll likely either get a 034 X Pipe and see if that helps bring it back to life or see if Tan can fab up something with the stock mufflers and make the RS tips slide onto that and just sell the Milltek mufflers to someone else since they line up for an S4 now. We'll see.

Overall I'm incredibly happy with the new look. It may not be for some people I didn't want to be like everyone else.

Enjoy!
after seeing the replies, going to dual tips looks like quite a bit of work, so I'm going to stick with the stock quad tips and either paint them or cerakote them. Thanks for all the feedback!

Those tips are really only good for the Milltek setup. I know for the S5 if you want to switch you have to switch bumpers as well.
