Just a quick heads up for anyone else who may be interested. I had been waiting for these to launch for some time now, and they finally did this morning. These are the 9" S4 units that retain the OEM ability to fold down/hide.

Currently, they are $475 plus $120 shipping ($595 total). I had hoped that due to their smaller size and less bulk, the shipping would be less than that of the larger 10.25" and 12.3" units.. but I guess not.

Also, according to the text on the page, the first shipment is scheduled for end of May.

Got one about a month ago and love it. Bigger screen, customizable, and being able to run split screen is great.

Did you install it yourself?
Is there anything that doesn't work vs stock?

Installed it myself, took a couple of hours. Getting the trim piece on was the biggest PIA. All of my stock MMI functions still work and can go into stock MMI whenever I want.

When using Spotify in CarPlay or on RSNav, the left “ok” wheel now changes songs which is legit. Scroll down to skip to next song or scroll up to go back.

It has CarPlay and Android Auto. It has USB 2.0 instead of 3.0 to save on cost, but it’s unlikely to have any measurable impact unless you’re trying to transfer larger amounts of data for some reason (and I don’t see why you would be).

I’d assume it is but not 100% sure. Wasn’t able to tell on the video and website doesn’t specifically say “touchscreen” that I could notice.

RSNAV.com regrets that we had announced our new 9" screen for C7 vehicles would have 1280x720 HD screen, but it turned out that the 1280x720 screen would cause jamming in the flip-up mechanism for its thickness. In light of this issue, we decided to go to 1024x600 SD screen for 9" devices. If you had reserved a 9"device already and do not wish to continue your order, please contact us.

Once again, we regret that we had to decide such change and it is our apology for the disappointment.

Everything I have been able to find suggests it's a WVGA resolution of 800x480

Yea, that’s a bummer but it’s still better than the the current screen in both resolution and functionality.

Honestly, I’d be fine with just an overlay over the factory screen that let me use a touchscreen for CarPlay, but since that’s not an option, I figure this is the next best thing.

i think the larger non folding is a better option. Might be a good party trick for the screen and B&O tweeters to raise and drop every time you start the car. But my mechanism has again already started making noise and juddering (replaced 4 years ago) so matter of time before it fails again and will need to find yet another solution for the retractable MMI screen.

Hey guys I’m looking in to this unit myself. Looks really nice and I was thinking of 12.3 version.
May I ask some of you, do you guys have an audio dac that could connect though usb to get to radio, I wonder if you get a full digital signal out that will bypass stock amplification.

Reason being, I’m doing a sound quality system and after calling RSNAV, talked to Daniel, he said it will by pass internal amplification, and send digital signal to a DAC. Can anyone please confirm it ?

it was installing the cameras for the 360 view, but on my a6 i replaced the factory pop out with an android unit and it was pretty easy for the screen. once you remove the trim around the opening, there is only a few bolts and the whole screen removes, fishing all of the wires behind the factory mmi unit was far more difficult than the screen

Negative. And the instructions stop short of what you need for that.

I just tried installing mine for MIB2 and wound up with a scraped up hand haha. While I could get the unit to work--unfolded, displayed the UI, touchscreen worked--I could not find a place to physically put the unit. The larger versions use the space where the screen would fold. Sadly cannot do that with this.

Also I think they are missing 1 connector cable. The OE screen harness has a short connector (gray) and without the RSNav in proximity, it cannot reach. The adapter cable included still leaves one connector undone. Waiting on them to get back to me.

Thats where i put mine, if you drop the glove box, there is a pocket that you can fit the unit in and the cables will still reach to the screen
