Question Need Help Coding H9-AGM Battery

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I just installed a new Diehard Platinum H9-AGM battery. It does not come with a BEM code and I have tried to read and find the correct coding for VAG COM. Does anyone have the correct method of coding and what BEM Code to use? If so, your help would be greatly appreciated.

The consensus now days is just to change only the last digit from the stock battery using your VAGCOM or OBD11

Did you car have an H9 AGM to start with? If so, the part number is already correct. Change battery, reset the date/time in the menu system (so the history log data is intelligible), perform adaptation and change one of the serial number digits.

If it wasn't an H9 AGM originally, you'll need to change the part number string as well. What is the part number string in the current adaptation value? H9 AGM would be 000915105CF.

Update for everyone and for future reference, the bem code is on the battery. It is just buried under the other stickers.

There's several part numbers for each battery size, reflecting the different parts bins. The 000 one is not used on a factory install, so I wondered if they used 4L0 915 105 or 7P0 915 105 D. No one had ever posted an example. I doubt my MY09 would accept 7P0... though as that's the 2nd gen Touareg (VW Q7) starting 2011. I'd probably have to use the 4L0... one (reflecting the 4L Q7, intro 2007). Audi got out of all this part number management mess with the UDS version of the J533 in the B9. You simply select the type and capacity values directly.

Sorry to revive but were you able to put in directly from your BEM or did you have to use the suggested coding for an H9 AGM?

I'm in VCDS and anytime I put my BEM info in and press "test" the original battery info gets loaded automatically into the test field overwriting what I put in, so I just went the "change one digit" route, but I'm replacing the original battery with this one which is certainly different, so I'd like to get it right.
