    Replacement Wheel lock key

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Looks like I've lost my factory wheel lock key. Assuming these are only available from the dealer. Does anyone know if they need to see the locking lug or can they look it up by VIN? And price? Know of any dealers that have better pricing than others?

    Thanks in advance.

Where I reside, the wheel locks are dealer installed during PDI. The VIN wouldn't help if this is the practice everywhere.

The wheel locks are identified by a letter code. You just order the part number with the color code for the key code you need. They're not high security, just there to prevent in-the-moment mayhem.

There's resources on the net for looking up the patterns, matching code, etc.

Thanks. Been seeing pictures online, but haven't found the letter code that matches my key code yet.

Found my wheel lock key. No need for me to keep searching for a replacement, although I was able to determine the letter code. Seems these are fairly readily available online. And Audi should be able to order a replacement as well. Some of the one's available online don't get good reviews (too soft and won't last).

Yeah, maybe something like this. https://www.ebay.com/itm/385400788155

When we look at the parts catalog for the B8.0 A5/S5 at the wheel bolts page:
    https://www.ilcats.ru/audi/?function...20&language=en

You see the locking wheel bolts, you order them by color code for a pattern A through X.

edit - or finding the original is the easy way :-D
