    If it is dimmer all around, it can be adjusted by using the dimmer button.



    On the older models like mine, the dash seems to be very dim, I was told that my older model can be fixed by replaceing the leds - which i will try DIY.

    The new model would need the whole dash, immobilsher (for euro model) and new codes.

    Dim dashboard lights

    noticed upon starting my car tonight that the lighting in general on my dash, gauge clusters and all, seems to be noticeably dimmer all around. any ideas why? yes i searched first. thanks in advance guys.

    its a 97 A4 1.8TQ

    Did you check the dimmer switch? Turn the left switch on the cluster.

    i dont have a dimmer, unless its somewhere i have no idea about and havent noticed in the last year of having my car.

    okay so you have 2 little knobs on your cluster. the left one you can spin to the right and left to dim the interior lights.
    Ti.Sline: yeah my dads got shit in order

    has anyone ever noticed if you turn the dimmer down as far as it goes, the white lights on the speedomitor and rpm's almost glow blue slightly? maybe im just on crack

    its the LEDs...2 of mine are burned out.

    and the rest are getting dim.

    SUPER EASY to pull the cluster and replace these.

    thanks for the help guys. ha apparently i was not aware of the knobs on the cluster being the dimmer after having the car for over year. oops.
