What are you using to read this DTC? What control module was it connected to when it presented this information?

What are using to scan the codes?

You need to look at the whole system and details.

    I have Ross-Tech VCDS & OBDeleven.

One phantom code from a module can cause a DTC. Here is an example of a DTC Fault code:
    B200004 phantom code from a 2020 Q3: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10171346-0001.pdf
    BMW M3 Competition X-drive

OBDeleven, that's common enough platform that how to use it should be readily available. To look at the error, I assume you had to go into one of the control modules, which one was it?

Or just find the history log after a full vehicle scan and post that, at least then the state of all the car modules will be seen.

The TSB referenced refers to the MIB2+ unit, the J794, at 5F - information electronics. What model year is your A5? Is it MIB2 (rotary dial) or MIB3 (touchscreen)? Is its software up to date?

Have you been using OBDeleven to make modifications to the vehicle?

By the way the tail lamps are fine as usual.
I changed all the codes that I changed before.

SBBR-variant (I don’t know what it is, but it’s in the history. I changed the value to 0 from 2)

Intelligent_tail lamp 1,2,3,4 (changed to not installed from installed)

That’s it. I didn’t change anything other than those.
and there is one thing coming out in the history
    ADDED - (C8) Auxiliary Display Control Unit 2 in 5F - Multimedia

There is Engine Start System: malfunction error keeps coming out.

"ADDED - (C8) Auxiliary Display Control Unit 2 in 5F - Multimedia" So why was that done? Do you even have one of those? Looks like more OBDeleven "we're going to make a bunch of random changes to the vehicle configuration and screw something up, because that's what we do". Databus missing message typically means something is misconfigured. Either an unsupported option was enabled, or some device that isn't there is configured as being there, etc.

From what I can find, Aux Display Control Unit 1 and 2 are a VW thing. We see this as well in that the adaptation list for an A3 MIB references the two control module names, while the adaptation list for an A4 MIB does not.

You probably need to go into the installed modules list (should be under 19-can gateway) and uncheck C8. We see the MIB J794 (5F) has measuring values for the installed modules list, which means it's probably seeing the setting and wondering where this control module is, it's not responding.

"SBBR-variant", I don't know what it is or does, but I changed it for the fun of it. ....? Apparently selects the variation of tail animation, with a value of 0, 1, or 2. Ie, frivolous stuff.
