I know this has been done to death but I haven't been keeping up with all things 3.2 I'm not spending $2.5k on a new exhaust when Audi did an awesome job already, the tune I was told to save my money as at best it only makes the drive smoother, and I can't see how as it's already smooth. Anything new?

You’ll find very little performance mods for the 3.2L. You could do a cold air intake but gains are minimal if any. You could ditch your stock exhaust for a stock B6 or B7 S4 exhaust (the one from the 4.2L V8). It’s a direct bolt in. Magnaflow makes a cat back for the S4 that fits the 3.2L but it is pretty pricey. The 3.2L had more HP from factory than the 2.0T but I’m sure you already know the numbers. There’s more aftermarket mods for the 2.0T….at least in North America, so more people go for that one.
Find yourself a B6 or B7 S4 (the one with the V8) that needs a timing job. Buy it for cheap and swap over the seats, headliner, door blades etc and sell the rest. The A4 and S4 from the same generation used the same chassis so everything is interchangeable. Trust me. The best mod you can do for a base model A4 is adding Recaro seats and black headliner. Start looking for S-line A4s being parted out. Grab the door blades and front bumper. Again direct bolt on and have a more aggressive styling than the base model A4. Appearance mods are about the only thing worth doing with the 3.2L. You won’t have the fastest A4 but at least it will be reliable.
2007 Audi S4 Avant 6MT: JHM Intake manifold and spacers, JHM Long tube headers and FI exhaust, JHM light weight flywheel, JHM light weight crank pulley, JHM Short Shift trio, 034 motorsport engine mounts and Trans mount, Apikol snub mount, Apikol rear diff mount, H&R lowering springs, Hotchkiss rear sway bar, RS4 grille and Maxton carbon fiber side skirts, Full wrap W/Inozetek Midnight purple.

Thanks mate I'll keep my eye out for an S4 exhaust, in all honesty since it was so long since the last thread I saw about mods for the 3.2 that I thought I'd ask, I'm very happy with the car out of the box, it hits the speed limit very quick with the tiptronic 6, the car came with the door blades, I thought they were 3.2l feature, it came out of the factory with them, car is bone stock factory, and unless Audi come up with a mod that makes huge gains I'm gonna keep it factory, thanks mate. If you check my other post with all photos, if you zoom in on the one parked next to white van you can see the S4 blades.

Hi mate I've just done a bit of research on the door blades the ones fitted to mine are the S Line blades not the S4 blades, I don't have an S Line , but including the blades it has, leather interior, lowered suspension, 3 spoke steering wheel, 17s, brushed aluminium trim, full size spare, but it's not an S Line, someone optioned these parts, oh S Line rubber mats,
