    Assistance with/applying for "Goodwill" Assistance

    I recently purchased a 2013 Q5 2.0T, 148000 miles and am having issues with a P0299,P0300,P0303 and P0304 codes and entering limp mode. After a considerable amount of digging, I have found out that my Q5 qualifies for the extended warranty for the turbo. In an attempt to solve the problem myself I've changed all plugs and coils packs and done a compression test on all cylinders. I found out that cylinder 3 is registering 0 psi for compression while cylinders 1,2,4 are all around 145 psi. My vehicle has had NO after market modifications and all of it's recommended service performed. I am in a tight financial position at the present time and can't afford a expensive repair but want the expert care that Audi service centers provide so I can get as much enjoyment and dependability out of my vehicle as possible. So when I take my vehicle in and in the event that it's determined that the turbo is not the underlined cause of my issue and therefore not covered under the extended warranty, would it be possible to get assistance from Audi USA to help me get this fixed? It's currently my only vehicle and is my sole transportation to get to work. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your patience and support. [email protected]

    2013 Q5 Quattro 2.0 turbo warranty

    Has anyone on here had any interaction with Audi USA concerning the extended warranty for the turbo? I'm at 148,000 and getting a P0299 permanent code and I'm being told by the dealership that I'm covered under said warranty. Just trying to get some advice/helpful information.

    Yes, my turbo went out after warranty had expired, and I discovered the extended warranty on the turbo for my B8 A4, the service advisor took care of me. Talk to the dealer and explain what you said here.

    I don’t know why there would be any expectations for Audi to possibly goodwill repair anything with 148k mi, especially for a 2nd/3rd owner of a vehicle.

    I’m even surprised Audi would cover the turbo waste gate issue with those miles. Anyway, the turbo boost leak is definitely not the cause of a 0 psi compression in cylinder 3. You either have a burned/chipped valve(s) or the timing jumped in the past, bent valves and someone just slapped a new chain on to sell the vehicle.

    It would help to figure out where the 0psi cylinder is leaking to. Remove spark plug , set #3 to TDC and hook up compressed air into the cylinder then figure out if air is leaking out of cylinder to the intake or exhaust manifolds (valves) or into the crankcase (piston/rings). Removal/replacement of the cylinder head is a somewhat involved mechanical job but is possible as a DIY or get some help from a shadetree mechanic friend/relative. Actual replacement and repair of a bad valve is not terribly expensive if you can get the cylinder head off. Valves can get bent if out of time but they can also just chip or crack without contacting the piston. Might also help to use a bore-scope camera to see if the valves are stuck open or if there is damage to top of piston. A blown head gasket would likely be loosing coolant into cylinder.

    If leak is through piston into crankcase, a fix would be much more involved, engine out.
