' Map ' Of Ground Connections?

after ' many adventures ', with my 2004 a4 b6 1.8t sedan, i've decided to try and ' get back to basics ', by which i mean, cleaning all of my engine's ground points.

a couple of these are obvious, i.e. the ignition coil ground point on top of the engine ( which will be first ). i would like to ask though if there is a ' map ' of the locations of all of these points for this audi model.

i have done a - what for me - is a pretty exhaustive search, but haven't been able to locate this info.

so, if any of you electrical wizards, knows of a ' map ', not a ' schematic ', per se, but a list of the physical location of the ground points in these vehicles, i would greatly appreciate some guidance on this; or any opinions on how to seek out this info...

    best...

The only resource for your question that I know of is the Bentley manual for B6 A4, which has verbal descriptions of every ground location. Illustrations would be better but Bentley's electrical section sux that way. The verbal descriptions will point you to the right vicinity, you'll have to sleuth it from there.

That will take a little ' deciphering ' lol, but is very good information to have. Thanks for sharing that!

Yeah, it's amazing how scarce some auto information is. That should be etched into the underside of the hood, lol! I do plan on picking up a Bentley manual though, once my level of desperation is piqued, lol. Thanks for the reply.

on related note, there is the primary battery ground, coming off the negative terminal of the battery, about a 6" long braided wire right to the car body, which seems pretty clean actually, to my eyes...

also though, i see a much longer, similar gauge wire, also attached to my negative terminal which winds down underneath the engine to some termination point that i can't see. This one is a little beat up though neatly patched with electrical wire. Is this second, battery connected, ground cable stock ( 2004 A4 B6 Quattro 1.8t ) ?

It dawned on me I should just post that page. This is all engine compartment grounds. The doofus attachments engine rotated them.

For chasing down electrical gremlins you MUST have the Bentley manual. Those schematics suk ass... not representational at all... mm2 instead of AWG... wire color abbreviations in goddamn GERMAN... but they're the only ones available AFAIK. A ross-tech resource for making sense of them.
