The price of the RS3 went up $2000

Just in case that that you haven't noticed the price of the RS3 went from $58900 to $60900 and that is not including delivery destination. To me that is a true kick in the nuts, $2000 for for the same car and what are we getting extra? It is well known that prices go up a little bit every year but $2000?

Anyone else feeling the pain? Do you guys think that mid year we could expect to see a facelift or do we have to wait until 2024?

Inflation - and it's particularly bad in Germany right now

Facelift was a rumor (possibly for a new hybrid), I haven't seen anything confirmed

    I wouldn't even consider a hybrid RS3

I have a friend who has been interested in an Audi RS 3, having rode with us during several fast country
back roads. But I am afraid this increase is enough to make it too difficult to now purchase an RS 3.
Too bad ofcourse as I guess it may also effect other potential buyers, who may not be able to now
support a purchase given their financial constraints. Hate to see longtime automobile friends now
unable to make a long desired automobile purchase, due to such cost changes.

I am hoping that Audi can hook us up with something extra. My wife complains of the parking side cameras not being offered. If Audi could at least offset the extra 2000 dollars with at least some equipment that would be sweet.

I finally have dry roads in Michigan and got mine back on the road today. Every time I drive this car I am just amazed it cost as little as it does. I even paid 5K over msrp and still feel like that was a deal for what the car does.

Amen. I can't believe how smooth the car rides, how great the seats are and the new tech, it feels improved over the previous but honestly the extra $2000 hurts a lot, I wasn't expecting it.

Prices across many manufactures are increasing, crazy times we are in. I purchased my 2023 w/ tech package for around 62500 and couldn't be happier. I feel like that's the sweet spot in terms of pricing, anything less than 65k. I think if you spec this car out 70k + it's a bit too much and I'd probably consider other cars; could be my unpopular opinion haha.

It has been rumored that we should see a update at the end of 2024 for the 2025 model but this is all rumors.

I paid a lot more than I expected when I initially put my deposit in. I got tired of waiting though. I paid the $2k increase on the msrp, a $5k mark up, and I had lost $5k on my trade in by the time I traded it in. Waiting was only going to cost more. There's a chance msrp can go up again and my trade in will only continue going down. I'm just glad it's over and I've got one. It was still worth all of it.

A 3.4% increase in this environment doesn't seem outrageous. Everyone is fortunate that Europe had a mild winter and energy costs didn't go crazy. It seems like they have agreements in place to buy nat gas from the US to replace Russia gas now, so there is more cost certainty for manufacturers.

Bottom line, it's still a bargain of a car with this type of performance. IMO, the car should have been more expensive to begin with. It has no real competition and 10 years ago, this type of performance was only in the exotics market.

They’re priced to not sell. There’s a 2020 in Denver for $57k and it hasny moved in 2 months despite the lines of people interested in it. And that’s in Colorado where hot cars sell like crazy to the point i dont even bother buying nice cars in state as you pay such a premium because everyone here wants the same fun cars especially if it was a manual, or just a good car like RS3.

But IMO anything much over $45k is too much. If you get really serious about buying you find the actual price to move these cars is $40-$45k. So getting a 8V with $10k of parts on at $45k vs paying $65k+ (absolute bare minimum) for an 8y, getting extremely hard to justify. I’ve seen them still sell $50-$55k but thats for the right buyer with the right specs/mods, $60k built

I agree. I looked at one that listed for $46k w/branded title. Was curious so I inquired and quote back was $58.8k! They were charging me for not trading a vehicle in and not using their finance; a few other things were questionable, but $12k in addition....PASS.

Aside from that, I've cleared and made available funds in case the blue RS3 comes along.

That $2k does not suddenly make the $61k car unaffordable

it also doesn't much matter, as there are far more buyers than there are cars that exist, or that will exist.

The car didn't initially change MSRP from MY22 to MY23. Essentially very other Audi did. Just as they did midway through 2022, and from MY21 to MY22.

Ok that makes sense then. Cuz when i merely went to just sit in the RS3 (and test legroom with carseat in back) i had a bday party to get to so didnt have time to test drive. So i gave salesman my number and said “*if* it doesnt sell today, call me monday for a proper test drive”. It didn’t sell and he never called me back about it but probably cuz i told him i wasnt trading in a car. I didnt even lowball him but i couldnt see myself paying more than $53k OTD anyways neverless the 57-58k asking so at least neither of us is wasting eachothers time

It's hard to find a product that hasn't had a price increase lately. So this is no different. I was cross shopping an i4 M50 and that got a huge bump in the 2023 model year and that did in fact price me out of the car (coupled with the loss in the tax credit). The RS3 remains a relative bargain in this market for what it offers in terms of performance. The average price of ANY car in the US last month was $45,000 so $60,000 for a high performance fairly exclusive sports sedan with rave reviews doesn't seem unreasonable. Mine was speccd with carbon brakes at 70k and it still seems reasonable. I'm not even sure what's out there in that price range. An AWD M3 runs 95k with options. The Model 3 Performance maybe but that's an EV. This is a new world. 60k for a sports sedan is probably the new entry price of admission frankly. And I can promise you it won't get any cheaper going forward. For the person who mentioned buying used, that's not much better. A used 8Y RS3 is likely to cost close to MSRP since dealers are getting mark ups.
2010 S4, Ibis, B&O, Nav. & Sport Differential retired. 2015 s3, Daytona grey with nav and nothing else.

Simple, the government gave out a bunch of free money which caused demand for goods to skyrocket since people had money to spend and supply to drop. To keep up with demand, you need to ramp up production which costs money forcing prices to rise. Then when you add in what happened with oil/gas and the sudden dramatic increase in cost, it’s just adding fuel to the flames since most stuff gets delivered in trucks powered by gasoline. Boom… inflation!

I'd take this car at whatever price they are asking.
If you can't afford this car because the price went up $2000,
then you truly couldn't afford this car to begin with!!

lol @ the folks saying the 8V should be in the $40s. It doesn't work like that anymore guys. Inflation is here to stay, maybe when we get a recession you can get one in the 40s. Crying about dealer mark ups and price increases but in the same breath saying the older model should be significantly cheaper...ha

If you need a historic example look at the GTR or M3, every single year prices went up on new models. Guess what the used models did... started to hold their value.

Prices going up all over the place these days. heh

M3 also went up by $2k, yet it has a higher base price so less of an impact percentage wise. End of the day though I'd venture to say we'd all happily pay $2K more MSRP if it meant there was actually inventory to buy. Cars.com shows 2 in the US. Two. lol

Autotrader shows 5 but the one in Brooklyn has been on there for several months, so I'd say it's gone! So, only 4 available in the whole US..... maybe?

I only see one more that's in transit right now too. I feel like the search can be a little fucky sometimes, so maybe there's a couple more. Like it's not showing the one at coral springs even though that one is marked as available and on the lot on the dealers site.

    https://www.audimoheganlake.com/new/...nventorysearch

There were a bunch of posts back in I think January about dealers being told there was a pause on production on these cars. This could be the end of what was in production at the time.
