    Audi A5 B8.5 2015 - custom steering wheel

Hi guys. New member here, so apologies in advance if I’m posting in the wrong place.

I’ve just received a custom carbon steering wheel I’ve ordered from the UK as an upgrade to my existing Audi A5 B8.5 2015 classic round S-Line paddle-shifter/multi-function steering-wheel. The intention was to swap everything from the existing one onto the new custom wheel - including trims and airbag.

After taking off the current steering wheel, I’ve realised there are some compatibility issues between these 2 models:

    1. The custom one has 611013700 engraved on it, which, from what I’ve seen, is specific to the A6/A8 models
    2. The airbag dimensions as well as the airbag fitting system is different - it doesn’t look like I can transfer the existing airbag onto the new custom wheel.
    3. The existing trims, although they looked identical have different clips - these ones can’t be transferred either…

It’s most likely looking like an error on their part and I’ll likely send it back, but, just out of curiosity and to determine whether I should complicate things with shipping back-and-forth and waiting for a replacement - has anyone ever tried such a conversion? I’d like some clarifications on the following:
    1. Part numbers for the new wheel airbag
    2. Part numbers for the new wheel trims and buttons
    3. Any compatibility issues I need to be aware of? Is there any recoding needed?

I feel like whoever you bought this from should be giving you all this info.

You're absolutely right, but I wouldn't rely on them to give the right info, not after they sent me the wrong wheel...
At this point I'm trying to minimise the damage and if it can be fitted, I'd rather do that than have to deal with returns, comms, waiting time, updates etc.
