I’ve had my 2021 Q7 for almost 2 years now and the brake squeal has been terrible on it. I discovered it about a year into ownership when valet was bringing my car. I thought this possibly couldn’t be my Q7 which had less than 7000 miles on it. The windows do an amazing job of blocking out the noise so I had never noticed it.
During my first 10k service, DTLA audi service said the noise is because there was tire shine applied on the tires that oversprayed onto the rotors…i’ve had 4-5 different cars all washed at the same place for years without any issues but I was in a rush and just took the car back.
I’ve been trying to do some hard braking to see if it helps but the noise has gotten worse and squeals everytime I come to a stop. Backing out of the garage in the morning is the most embarassing part.
I know the 2017-2019 had actual service bulletins issued for the brake squeal but anyone else who has a 2021+ that is dealing with brake squeal as well? I plan on asking the dealer during my next service to actually identify which brake is the issue and try and find a resolution because it’s honestly embarrassing to have a 65k suv thats less than 2 years old sounding like a train each time it comes to a stop. If it was a carbon ceramic 911 brake, i’d get it but this is a very standard SUV.
Looking forward to hearing any advice/responses. Thanks!
