    B9.5 IE Tune Not Working

Has anybody else on here with a B9.5 flashed through IE? I have a 2023 S4 and for some reason after installing the transmission patch, the car would not start at all. I would need to flash it back to stock in order for my car to start back up. It also gives me a flash error when I try to flash to stage 2 91 file after the trans patch. I've been keeping in touch with IE's support team during the weekday. They've been amazing so far. I just wanted to see if anybody else is experiencing the same issue and I will update this thread when they figure out a solution or if anybody else can assist me. Thank you!

I just tried flashing the tcu patch on my 2022 and the car won't start now. Even trying the patch removal option won't get the car running. I'm waiting on IE support to get back to me.

Did you manage to get your car running again or hear anything from IE?

You have to flash it back to stock file. Mine did exactly that. I tried doing patch removal and it didn’t work so I went straight back to stock. Let me know if that works!

Thanks that worked... Not sure why I didn't think to try that. I'm back to stock and the car is running. Did you ever get your tune successfully installed?

I’m glad it helped. I’m waiting for their software developer to let me know what I can do. Once I complete the flash, I will update this thread and let you know!

If you run into this problem on 22/23 models, flash the TCU back to stock (you can keep the ECU Stage on) and then send a ticket to our tuning support team by filling out the tuning support form here: performancebyie.com/pages/contact

There are 2 unique ECU variations that are currently causing some issues on the TCU side, we are working on it and will have it sorted shortly. In the meantime, we do have a fix for the torque limits on the ECU side that our calibration team will send you. Audi did some odd stuff on a couple of these late 22 and 23 TCU box codes, we have it identified though, and will have you sorted in no time.

IE got back with me, and I was able to successfully flash their tune. Wanted to pass on their instructions in case anyone else is having issues:

    From IE:
    Here are the required steps:

1.) Make sure hood is open and trickle charger connected.

2.) Flash the ecu tune of your choice

3.) Confirm car starts. Shut down and prepare for next flash.

4.) Flash Transmission Patch file. After flash finishes, cycle key and do not attempt to start the car. It will not start at this stage.

5.) Flash your desired tune again. This should be quick, it will only take a couple minutes this time around.

Next week we will be making the transmission patch a part of the unlock procedure so that you never have to flash it again. Until then this process will make sure that the correct areas of flash memory are written in the correct order.

Thank you for posting the instructions! I never got to flash my car yet because it's currently in the shop getting air suspension installed! I'm excited for it to finally work!!

Has anybody else had any other issues with this tune? I just tuned my 2023 S4 (93 octane, stg 1 TCU) and I’ve noticed when I start the car I’ll hear a clunk and the car will kinda lurch forward. This concern happens intermittently and both times the car had been back up into a spot, I left, came back and when starting it, it happens. The second thing I noticed is when cruising and the vehicle is in a high gear when loading it up without dropping a gear the vehicle kinda shakes. It feels like the transmission is lugging and the car is hesitating, noticed my car at one point was going 37mph in 7th gear which I never noticed stock. It’s mostly noticeable around 40-50mph in 7-8th gear. A buddy of mine flashed his 2022 S4 and his vehicle doesn’t exhibit either of the two conditions and the cars are only 2,000 miles apart. I love the tune beside that!!! Good job with releasing the extra power IE.
