Is there a key slot for dead key fobs?

Lets say you drop your key fob into water or you're in a rainstorm, is there a key slot to start your car? I've got a 2014 A7 and wonder how you'd start your car without the fob.

not sure about the A7, but my wife's S5 has a spot on the front of the wireless charging pad that you lay the key for it to recognize the transponder.

battery died in my key fob and I have to hold it against the wireless charging pad under the arm rest to start the car

On my 2012 A7 there is a spot on the dash, just to the right of my steering wheel. I am in the US and have a left hand drive car. There is an embossed pic of the key where you can place the back of it there and the car will start.
In my 2019 A7, the key needs to be put in the center console just in front of the wireless phone charger.
