Warranty, not worried about it. All my performance mods are weight reduction and handling.

Yup, same, have extended warranty so if it splits and ruins something they pay for it, if I manhandle it out and the cooling system dies they say it's my fault and I pay for it.

I plan to have them flush and fill the cooling system at my 5 year service in June anyway.

    Cool.

The bags are in every VW, Audi, and Porsche built in the last what 6-7 years? About 9 million cars or so. What's the failure rate? I'm more worried about the virtual cockpit dying than a silica bag, which is why I got an extended warranty lol

ok, good for you, but after having read about people who suffered from the bag crack that led to a clogged heater matrix, and with Audi/VW refusing to cover the repairing bill with warranty, I am not ready to take this risk, thanks..

Did you consider if all of those cars were stock and warranty covered in the first place? Maybe worthwhile if warranty is voided or gone, but not with warranty hence the earlier posts.

as I wrote, there are several people stating VW or Audi did not cover the repair bill under the warranty, but I don't want to be the guinea pig

Most threads have several replies stating "Wow, never heard of this before." When I see about 3 million threads I may consider removing it and risking my warranty.

And yeah, it's your car you are free to do what you feel is best for you. That's pretty much a given.

I PROMISE you Audi will be covering any problems with parts and systems they designed under warranty if there is a problem with mine. There is certainly more to any story about them denying it than what you believe or what was shared. Several even admitted they were out of warranty but expected it to be covered anyway just because "stupid design". If you believe Audi or any manufacturer can simply pick and chose what non wear items they want to cover under the bumper to bumper warranty I'm not sure why you would EVER expect to use the warranty for anything.

Audi replaced my brake rotors under warranty due to pad noise that continued after they told me it was pads, I paid for new pads and install, and then the noise returned after a $1000 bill for the pads was paid out of pocket re-using the same rotors. When the rotors didnt fix it, they refunded me the $1k I paid for the pads, put new rotors on no cost to me with new pads and did the calipers under warranty too, no charge to me, which resolved the noise. I have faith in their warranties thus far and my treatment, considering rotors are a wear item nonetheless typically.

I checked each one of the referenced posts and pretty sure I read every car out of warranty paid while every car under warranty got fixed under said warranty. I barely slept all weekend long so I may have made a mistake but I can’t imagine this would ever be denied under warranty. I’d be TD1’d if I took my car in but I personally will be leaving the bag in. Several people mentioned this being done across a manufacturers for over a decade and if this was a widespread problem we would have heard about it a long time ago. But if it makes you feel comfortable there’s nothing wrong with that, it’s your car.

couldn't paste all the numerous links reporting bag failure, several of them not covered by Audi despite being inside warranty period, and surely there are well known cases for which Audi refused warranty (i.e water drain hoses blocked leading to license plate LED breakage or B&O amplifier short-circuit due to water ingress under passenger seat, since drains inspections/cleaning is not a planned task on their rather expensive 2-year inspections), but as you said, each to their own, so in my case I removed the bag and flushed the system with G12 Evo.
Interestingly, on newer models (i.e Golf mk8) VW reverted to G12, abandoning definitively G13 (and silica bag)
