Looking for recommendations on DS1/TCU tune

Just picked up a 2015 S6. About to pull the trigger on SRM intakes and a flex fuel sensor/fuel lines. Looking for recommendations on custom DS1 tuning/tcu tuning. Whose the best and why?

Kyle Leblanc at Kyletunedit can get you DS1 and TCU
Will Flores at SRM can get you DS1 and TCU
Corey Harper at GPO can get you a DS1 and TCU
Jon Gronewald at Pinnacle Performance can get you a DS1 and TCU

Custom tune will be ok, but you really need to decide where you want to take the car. Are you a stage 1/2 and be done with it, if that is the case, then the DS1 OTS tune will be sufficient.

it gets into a slippery slope past this, and the DS1 page John mentioned above has all of this you'll need to start to understand. the DS1 website also has the FAQ and read me sections which will cover nearly all your basic questions...so take some time to read here...I might know a thing or two about this.....my questions were answered very in depth in the FAQ and how to sections....lol

Dont just start throwing parts at the car.....some parts will set you down a path and you'll end up spending more money going in another direction of where you want to take the car ultimately

Upgrading the inlets and E85 is certainly a great place to start! You have done some homework it seems! I wouldn't get a custom tune just yet with those mods. S6 OEM turbos are not built for continual high(er) boost levels, reliably. If you are spending money on a custom tune, you should upgrade the main power-producing components to handle the fine-tuned increased power reliably (RS7 Turbos, PP, etc).

Join the FB group, do some more research yourself first there. You'll get everyone recommending all the people Travis listed, and a couple more too.

Appreciate all the info! The only reason for custom tune in the beginning will be to turn off CEL for downpipes, but 100% plan to go full retard with 3071's/A2A/Full fuel system with meth in search of 800+ awhp, so I figure it's best to start working with whomever is the best now and not later.

Good looking list. You’ll be at stage 3 after all these mods

You’ll want to get the DSG serviced before you go this route, and replace spark plugs with a step colder; Brisk ER10’s are your best bet.

Still a good idea to invest in a larger HX and coolant pump on an S6/7, even though you’re going with WMI. JHM, Merc make quality HX. SRM does also sell a kit if your budget is wide open, which it seems to be lol

By DSG serviced you just mean a normal fluid/filter change or something more? I was already planning on doing the 75k mile transmission service in advance of doing the DS1/flex fuel.

As far as the SRM Kit, I was considering it, but would rather save funds for stage 2 (my stage 2, not DS1 stage 2 tuning map) which would include the SRM A2A intercooler kit. From what I have read so far, the stock IC brick isn't that good, and the MERC one isn't any better, so I don't see the point in investing 2kish into the A2W system just to dump it later on when I put some decent sized turbos on.

My thought process was just to spray a shit ton of meth along with E-85 and max out the Ebay RS7 turbos for 6 months to a year while I save up for some real turbos/fuel system/A2A...you don't think that will hold up?

Yes, just a DSG service. Don’t forget about those spark plugs. Probably more important here.

Missed that you wanted to go A2A. If that’s your plan, than you’re right, no need to waste your money. You will def want to log and make sure that’s the case anyway with E85/WMI.

If you are going this deep in your goals, might as well get a better-sized turbo for the caliber of your mods. RS7 sized turbos will certainly work, but larger will better utilize what your planning to upgrade; EBay/Aliexpress sell larger than RS7 turbos too… a few more upgrades needed to support the required fueling, but goes with your custom tuning already planned

Most definitely going to do the spark plugs at the same time as the turbos/oil lines! My reasoning for no larger than RS7 turbos to start is precisely the fuel system requirements. From what I can gather, doing E-85 with just HPFP pistons you are limited to RS7 sized turbos until you also do LPFP and lines. I'm trying to keep stage 1 of the build around 10kish, with real turbos/a2a and a complete fuel system coming in stage 2. Below is my stage 2 plans, sure I'm missing a few things...

    STAGE 2-850 whp
    GTX 3071 6000
    LPFP 2300
    SRM A2A IC 5995
    Tial Wastegates 895
    3 bar map sensors 600

Boosted Euro is no longer in business, for reasons not fully known, but one can deduce why.

Unfortunately, the tuner is really the one that could answer this definitively. Saying that, there are other tuning companies that also have DSG tunes, and it’s not recommended that a TCU tune is used without the ECU tune. I don’t have the BU TCU tune, but there’s no way for you to flash back the stock file on your own?

Logically IMO, it shouldn’t hurt anything if you aren’t getting on it, but he wants it stock and doesn’t sound like he would want that long term

Nope he doesn't respond there either. I ended up calling a local APR dealer and they were able to flash it back to stock. Thank you everyone for your inputs!
