I just started getting this message when I turned off my car.

What "inspection" is this about?

The car is a 2021 RS5 with almost 18K miles. I just changed to oil about 2K miles ago.

Inspection Message is really indicating a "Major Service" is due - it includes the an oil change and other things and is on a 24 month schedule. An oil change is a "Minor Service" and from memory the message for that is Oil Change due. The Oil Change interval can be reset via the MMI but resetting the Inspection message requires use of VCDS/OBDeleven/dealer tool.

Based on the 2021 model year you mentioned, it sounds like you are close to 2 years since your vehicle in-service date so should have "done" the Major Service at the same time as your oil was changed. The recommended interval for all of these various maintenance actions is every 12 months OR 10,000 miles, WHICHEVER occurs first.

Have your oil changes been done by a dealer or have you been doing them yourself?

The service interval display works in two stages:
—Inspection or oil change reminder: after driving a certain distance, a message appears in the instrument cluster display each time the ignition is switched on or off. The remaining distance or time is displayed briefly.
— Inspection or oil change due: if your vehicle has reached an inspection or oil change interval or both intervals at the same time, the message Inspection due! or Oil change due! or Oil change and inspection due! appears briefly after switching the ignition on or off.
