Help identifying repair wire kit to order

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I’m building new pigtails with 2.2ohm resistors to plug into the factory airbag connector since I replaced my factory seats with a set of BRAUM fixed back seats.

I depinned one of the factory connectors on the seat side to double check the resistance value. (Confirmed in my 2010 S line with Alcantara seats it is 2.2ohm)

I had thought I needed the following repair wire kit for the replacement connectors (000-979-034-EA)

But, now after deppining one of the factory connectors, I can see it should have a thin flat pin extending at the end of the connector like this.

Can anyone help to identify what the correct repair wire kit from VW/Audi is?

I want to get rid of the airbag error in the dash.

    Thanks!!

You need the male terminal for your connector.
VAG 000-979-034-EA is "1.2 mm flat connector/sleeve female, retaining lug".
If the existing male terminal fits your repair wire, I would expect the mating connector to be VAG 009-979-035-E "1.2 mm male connector". --g

Yeah, they inverted the front side airbag terminals for B8.0 vs B8.5. If this is the 2010 A4, then it would appear the male pins are on the airbag plug for B8.0, and are on the harness plug for B8.5. So depending on your source reference, this could be the cause of the confusion.

    The wires are 0.5mm².

034EA are gold plated 1.5mm pins with 0.5mm² wire, part 13 (so female).

034EA are gold plated 1.2mm pins with 0.5mm² wire, part 13 (so female).

I'm glad these resources are out there, but every so often they do have some typos/inconsistencies.

As DrGER points out, the matching male 1.2mm gold plated pins with 0.5mm² wires, part 14, would be 035EA.

The ETKA clone I referenced didn't mention 035EA specifically, but suffix A for gold-plated makes sense (particularly for an airbag circuit). Now I know. --g

Awesome! Thank you so much, ordered a couple of these so I can get that knocked off of the to-do list. :)

Thank you so much for the additional details, I've ordered a couple of these so I can get it completed and put the interior back together.

    Thanks!!
