S-Tronic Issues - Help Needed

Hi, i got an Audi A7 3.0 TDI with the S-Tronic 7 Speed Gearbox.
I've been having issues with it the past few weeks.
Yesterday i got it checked out and the shop told me it was both the Mechatronics and the Clutch Pack.
Long story short, i found a pretty good deal on a 8 speed gearbox that is way under the price of all the parts to get.
My question is can i swap out the 7 speed for it. And if i can what else would i need to change out ?

youll need someone to code all of that and flash software, its not a simple swap.

Ive heard of people doing it with PCM flash. Idk how, but Ive heard thats involved. Hopefully that can point him in the right direction
