Rotor Replacement - Girodisc vs 034

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I know several forum members have replaced OEM rotors with Girodisc, but not sure if anyone here have gone with 034 rotors? I'm considering both currently. Listed pricing currently has Girodisc at just under $2400 for F/R, while 034 is just under $2000. Fairly significant savings there. I'll be pairing with Carbotech 1521 pads and Castrol SRF. I'm also on the fence about whether or not to do SS lines. Any thoughts on the rotors and SS lines that might help me decide?

I installed Girodisc 2-piece rotors on my SQ5, and they are zinc-coated.

I checked the 034 website, however, it makes no mention the rotor rings are zinc-coated. Maybe they are, but it's just not mentioned.

This could explain the cost difference.

No doubt that the Girodiscs are the industry standard when it comes to upgrading your brake rotors. We're currently a dealer for Giro and have ran them on several cars before making our rotors.

When we embarked on engineering and testing our brake rotors, we aimed to provide an equally high-quality rotor to Giro, at a slightly better price point.

These rotors will hold up to full motorsport/ racing abuse and traffic on the interstate with no issues.

They're also on sale through Black Friday!

Anyone have any more information or feedback on either of these aftermarket rotor options after running them for a while? I just got what sounds like is the standard ~$3200 quote from my dealer for the rotors and pad replacement coming up on my RS5 SB.....

I have heard that the after market rotors can be noisier than stock rotors. Can anyone comment on this for either 034 or Girodisc?

The pad noise is going to vary based on the rotor compound and when the pads come into their efficiency range.

That said, I've never heard any noise from our rotors or any previous rotor I've used in my past cars with OE pads, High-Performance Street Pads, and Track/Racing pads.

They will not as the SQ7 uses a 400MM rotor.

    Thank you!
Anticipating a change soon as my wife drives the SQ7 like a mad woman.

    Just found this thread: https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...ADS-amp-ROTORS

You might want to just double check and make sure 100% of your pad is touching the rotor surface as the RS5 rotor is 25mm smaller in diameter.

Audi parts website seems to indicate the 2021 Audi SQ7 has 400X38 MM front brake rotors.
