Can I turn the Airbag Off light off?

So my "passenger airbag off" light stays on all the time - unless someone is sitting in the seat. Not a big deal, but is there a way to have that light not on all the time?

Yes, that's how it's supposed to work. Why is that an issue?

I think he wants the light to stay off all the time, whether or not someone is in the passenger seat

Some of us believe it should be opposite. If there are never any passengers in the car, we shouldn't have to stare at the stupid light. Should have an option to light up a passenger airbag ON light only when someone is in the seat.

OP is just asking if there is a way to reverse (or maybe disable) the light like we are able to for the Start/Stop system.

    Right. That's what I'm asking.

I'm saying this having never pulled the dash apart, but couldn't you just unplug it?

You can unplug it, but then you'll have an error on your DIS. Right in your face.

1/4 drill bit should take care of it. That’s how I get rid of my check engine light.

I kid, I do get it though on having fewer lights happening. Have done the start/stop reverse thing on the cars I've messed with coding on for the same preference.

I haven't tried anything on my S6 but on my S4 you could lift the housing out and I put some electrical tape on the inside of the housing to block out the bulb. If you didn't feel like taking things apart what about some black plasti-dip and a fine brush to paint over the letters?

So I was messing around in V CDS today and manage to find a setting that did turn off the center console air bag light. However I can't determine if it throws the airbag light in the gauge cluster or not as I have other airbag system faults due to my seat swap. If you go into the airbag module and go to adaptations, find the channel that reads whether or not the passenger seat detection is on. Go in there and change it from activated to locked. That'll turn out the light. Don't know if it throws the fault light or if the airbags even work at that point. But, the light goes out.

If detection is off, the passenger airbag is disabled. Unsafe idea.

Can I turn the Airbag Off light off?

Which idiot at Audi decided that having a bright yellow light on inside the car whenever the seat is empty (which is OFTEN)was a good idea?
Seriously...didn't anyone consider the human-machine interface on this one?
At least it's not like the new GTi...oh my Gawd....

Quick googling indicates it’s a NHTSA requirement to have a light illuminated (telltale) when the airbag is not active based on occupancy sensor
